Abstract

This study aims to discover the fundamental concepts and goals of education from the perspective of Islamic education. Islamic Educational Philosophy is a conceptual framework on education based on the teachings of Islam, concerning the nature of human potential to be nurtured, developed, and guided to become a Muslim whose entire personality is imbued with Islamic teachings. This research is a literature study that collects information and data from relevant scholarly articles and books. The findings of this study indicate that education in the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy is based on the principle of Tawhid, with the primary goal of shaping morally upright and God-fearing individuals. The Quran and Sunnah serve as the primary sources of guidance, while the teaching methods emphasize active learning and direct experience. The practical implications of Islamic educational philosophy include the development of a curriculum based on the Quran and Sunnah, experience-based learning, character development, and a holistic approach to education. By understanding the basic concepts of Islamic educational philosophy, educators can design educational programs that align with Islamic values and meet the holistic needs of students.

Abstract

Understanding human character in Islam plays an important role in supporting the success of Islamic education. This education is realized through a deep understanding of the concept of learners, the duties of educators, the formulation of objectives, and a curriculum that is in accordance with Islamic values. In addition, the use of appropriate learning methods at each stage of student development, both physically and spiritually, as well as the implementation of evaluations that are oriented towards the development of human potential are also important aspects. All of these efforts aim to always remind humans that Allah is the ultimate goal of life. This study aims to examine human character from the perspective of Islamic educational philosophy. With a library research approach, this study analyzes various thoughts of Muslim philosophers, both classical and contemporary, regarding human character. The results of the study show that in Islam, human character has complex dimensions, including physical, spiritual, social, and intellectual aspects. Human character is not only seen as an individual entity, but also as a social being who is responsible for the environment and society. The implication of this study is the importance of Islamic education in developing all human potential as a caliph (leader) on earth. Islamic education does not only aim to create knowledgeable individuals, but also to shape human character that is able to carry out its role and responsibilities in the world, in accordance with divine values that will bring them back to Allah as the ultimate goal.

Abstract

The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has penetrated the world of education, including madrasahs; however, its use is often not accompanied by ethical awareness and scholarly originality. This study aims to analyze the ethical dimension and originality of thought in the use of AI by madrasah students, based on the perspective of Islamic Cultural History teachers at MTs Al-Ittihadiyah Medan. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interview techniques, classroom observation, and document study, the research found that AI is used by students to complete assignments instantly, without critical thinking or spiritual reflection. This action weakens the values of academic honesty, learning responsibility, and reduces the meaning of Islamic education as a process of internalizing values. In addition, the absence of regulations and process-based assessment instruments makes it difficult for teachers to control and evaluate the authenticity of student assignments. This study contributes to the development of an Islamic digital ethics framework and emphasizes the importance of repositioning AI as an educational aid, not a substitute for the learning process. Madrasahs need to redesign policies, curriculum, and evaluation methods to maintain scholarly integrity and cultivate ethical thinking in the technological era.
