Abstract

Money is an important component of existence. We call the system created by the exchange of certain contracts a financial transaction. These exchanges are simply an attempt to meet basic needs. Muhammad Baqir Ash Sadr consistently discusses the state of Islamic economics in his writings, consistently stating his rejection of colonial economics (conventional economics). The traditional economic perspective on economics and the true understanding of economics are not the same. This view is based on the scientific theory of economics which argues that scarcity of resources in the economy causes economic problems. According to M. Umer Chpra, everyone who pursues entrepreneurship is naturally influenced by their worldview and assumptions about the nature of the universe and human existence.

Abstract

Environmental pollution due to waste is a serious problem in society. This study aims to describe the socialization activities of the use of recycled waste in Perintis Kemerdekaan Village as an effort to reduce environmental pollution. The method used is descriptive qualitative through observation, interviews, and direct socialization. The results show that socialization increases public understanding of the importance of sorting and managing waste with the 3R approach (Reduce, Reuse, Recyle). Examples of recycled products such as stationery holders, wall hangings, and flower vases have succeeded in attracting the interest of residents. This activity also encourages awareness that waste has economic potential if managed creatively. It is hoped that this kind of activity will continue to be developed to from a more environmentally friendly mindset and community habits.

Abstract

Extreme poverty remains a major challenge in rural areas of Indonesia, including Nagori Bandar Manik, Pamatang Sidamanik District, Simalungun Regency. The 2025 UINSU Community Service Program (KKN) was carried out to empower local communities through various activities covering economic, educational, religious, social-environmental, and health aspects. This program employed a qualitative approach by involving active community participation in needs assessment, socialization, training, and evaluation. In the economic aspect, workshops on dishwashing liquid and herbal pesticide production were implemented as alternative household businesses. The educational sector included religious moderation through a short movie screening Mabbere, anti-bullying campaigns, ecoprint totebag training, and teaching at kindergarten, elementary, and junior high school levels. In the religious field, activities included Qur’an learning after Maghrib with children and Yasin recitals for both men and women. The social-environmental aspect was realized through community clean-up, educational boards on waste decomposition, distribution of garbage bins, and environmental awareness campaigns. Meanwhile, the health aspect focused on education about clean and healthy living behaviors, stunting prevention campaigns, and community exercise. The findings revealed improvements in entrepreneurial skills, children’s literacy, spiritual values, environmental awareness, and healthy lifestyles. The implication highlights that multidimensional community empowerment can serve as an effective strategy to reduce extreme poverty and promote sustainable village development.
