Abstract

The educational zoning system aims to support equal access to quality education in society through the distribution of schools by region. This policy is also expected to reduce transportation costs for students and help less fortunate families. However, the implementation of the zoning system faces various challenges, such as the unequal quality of education in several regions and inequality in facilities between schools in one zone. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The type of data consists of primary data and secondary data. This research aims to understand the perceptions, attitudes, and expectations of the community towards the education zoning system policy to provide an overview of the pros and cons arising in the community regarding implementing this policy. The research results show i.) Community perceptions of the education zoning system, ii.) Community attitudes towards policy implementation, iii.) Community views regarding the effectiveness of zoning and iv.) Community expectations regarding the development of the zoning system. The results of this research show that there are diverse views among the community, both those who support and those who reject the zoning system. It is hoped that this research can become the basis for further studies to optimize education zoning system policies in a broader context.

Abstract

This study examines the division of labor system used by the clothing tailor group in Amplaz, Ambon City. This study uses qualitative research methods to explain the division of labor in the clothing tailor group in Amplaz. The results of the study found that the division of labor in the tailor group is based on the specialization of sewing skills possessed by the tailors. In the sewing business premises in the Amplaz building, there are sewing businesses owned by the business owner who employs several tailors as employees, and there are also businesses owned by the tailors themselves or private businesses. The clothing tailor group is divided into two: a group of tailors who work for the business owner, and a group of tailors who have their own business. The two groups of tailors have different division of labor systems in the tailor group based on the specialization of sewing skills possessed by the tailors. The division of labor based on the specialization of skills possessed can give rise to solidarity based on dependence on skills to gain profit. This solidarity is rational because it is based on the same goal of gaining profit. The division of labor creates solidarity that can create trust, networks, and norms within the tailor group.

Abstract

Indonesia is a plural society (plural society). This pluralism is marked by the diversity of ethnicity, religion, language and culture. Thus giving birth to the order of life and legal norms contained in the form of customary traditions. However, as time has progressed, many millennials do not understand customary law in their local area. In fact, this article discusses how the millennial generation perceives the customary law of Larwul Ngabal in Tual City. This study used a qualitative method, data were collected through direct observation and interviews with five layers of society consisting of the king, traditional leaders, educational leaders, the community and the millennial generation. All results of interviews and field notes were analyzed thematically using the technique analysis interactive assisted Milles & Hubberman model software NVIVO 12.0. The research findings found two perceptions of millennials towards Larwul Ngabal customary law, namely, i) some millennials understand Larwul Ngabal's customary law properly and correctly, they always follow and comply with customary rules; ii) some millennials do not understand Larwul Ngabal's customary law, so they are indifferent and do not follow customary law rules. These two perceptions can be used as a reference for the government, traditional leaders and religious leaders to better introduce and convey to the millennial generation regarding the customary law of Larwul Ngabal on Dula Island, Tual City. So that the millennial generation can understand and implement the customary law of Larwul Ngabal and provide a good perception of this customary law.
