Abstract

Social skills are the ability of individuals to interact and communicate effectively, encompassing elements such as empathy, cooperation, and good communication. In an educational context, social skills are essential for students’ academic success and emotional well-being, as well as helping them build positive relationships with peers and teachers. Social Studies (IPS) learning in Elementary Schools aims to develop students’ understanding of society and human interaction, as well as to shape the character and social skills needed to become good citizens. Learning methods such as project-based and group discussions can increase student participation, but barriers such as lack of interest and monotonous teaching methods can interfere with engagement. Research shows that social skills have a significant impact on student participation in learning, and the application of cooperative methods can improve social skills as well as academic learning outcomes. Thus, the integration of social skills in IPS learning can create a more interactive learning environment and support the development of student character.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of parents' socio-economic conditions on the learning process and academic achievement of elementary school students. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using a literature review method, in which the researcher collects and examines various relevant journal sources. The focus of this study is on the socio-economic background of parents, including education level, occupation, and income, in relation to student engagement during the learning process and the outcomes achieved. The results indicate that parents' socio-economic factors have a significant impact on students' learning motivation. Students from families with stable socio-economic conditions tend to have better access to education due to adequate supporting facilities and higher learning motivation. These findings highlight the importance of the family's role in shaping students’ learning enthusiasm in elementary school.

Abstract

Penggunaan game online di kalangan anak usia dini telah berkembang pesat dalam beberapa tahun terakhir. Namun, konten dalam game online sering kali memperkuat stereotip gender yang dapat mempengaruhi pandangan anak tentang peran sosial laki-laki dan perempuan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada orang tua dan pendidik mengenai strategi pendampingan yang efektif dalam mengatasi stereotip gender pada game online. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 30 peserta dari HIMPAUDI Kecamatan Sukun, Kota Malang, dan difasilitasi oleh tim pengabdian dari Universitas Negeri Malang. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan kesadaran orang tua dan pendidik dalam memilih game yang inklusif dan berdiskusi dengan anak tentang peran gender yang lebih setara.

Abstract

Emotional management skills play an important role in forming positive social interactions and supporting the development of students' character from an early age. This study aims to examines the relationship between emotional management and social interactions of fourth-grade students at SDN Cipinang Cempedak 07. With a quantitative approach and correlational method, data were obtained from 63 students through questionnaires and observations. The results of the analysis showed a very strong and significant correlation (r = 0.818; p < 0.001), indicating that the ability to manage emotions is closely related to the quality of students' social interactions, so it is important to be integrated into learning in elementary schools
