Abstract

The lack of road infrastructure in West Papua is a complex problem that has a major impact on the lives of local people. Road development in West Papua is still far behind compared to other regions in Indonesia. The lack of road infrastructure also affects access to education in West Papua. Adequate education is essential in improving the quality of life and opening up opportunities for communities to develop. The purpose of this study is to examine how road infrastructure and education affect governance and democracy in West Papua. The results show that inequality in road infrastructure and education has an impact on limited access to public services, social welfare, and community democratic participation. Using a descriptive qualitative approach based on secondary data, this research illustrates that good governance is needed to overcome geographical barriers and inequality in resource distribution to enhance sustainable development in underdeveloped regions.

This research analyzes the impact and government efforts in dealing with environmental ecosystem problems in the development area of Ibu Kota Nusantara. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method which is expected to help in the process of problem identification. Abstract

Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) is a large-scale infrastructure project designed to be one of the largest and most modern stadiums in Indonesia, with a capacity of up to 82,000 spectators. This research analyzes the social conflict caused by the eviction of Kampung Bayam residents for the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) from the perspective of social justice and human rights. This study aims to explore how the eviction not only reflects a violation of the right to housing, but also a denial of the collective rights of the community, including the right to development that affects their lives. This study uses a qualitative-descriptive approach with secondary data from official documents, previous research, and mass media. The results show that the evictions not only resulted in the loss of people's homes and livelihoods, but also violated basic principles of social justice, such as the right to housing and participation in development. This denial of basic rights creates significant socio-economic impacts, including psychological trauma, difficulty accessing public services, and loss of economic stability. This research recommends inclusive and socially just development policies to ensure no group of people is marginalized.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the challenges in implementing e-Samsat as a form of digitalization of motor vehicle tax services in Jakarta. E-Samsat is an information technology-based public service innovation designed to simplify the online tax payment process, improve the efficiency of public services, and support local government transparency and accountability. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study, which examines various sources such as scientific journals, policy reports, and related articles. The results show that challenges in implementing e-Samsat can be categorized into internal and external challenges. Internal challenges include limited technological infrastructure, weak system integration between agencies, dependence on one bank partner, and concerns over data security. Meanwhile, external challenges include the low digital literacy of the community, the lack of government socialization, and the tendency of the community to continue using conventional methods or intermediary services. This research confirms that the successful implementation of an online tax system depends not only on technological readiness, but also on the government's active role in building digital education and strengthening cross-sector collaboration. An adaptive and participatory policy approach is needed so that this program can embrace all levels of society, especially groups that are not familiar with online taxation.

Abstract

The case of buying and selling positions involving the former Regent of Probolinggo is one of the real portraits of abuse of power in local governance in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the form of abuse of power committed by the former Regent of Probolinggo in the practice of buying and selling positions and its impact on local governance. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, using secondary data from previous research, media reports, news, academic literature related to corruption cases in the local government environment. The results show that the practice of buying and selling positions by public officials reflects a complex form of abuse of power, including abuse for personal gain, deviation from the purpose of the position, and violation of administrative procedures. These actions have a negative impact on the quality of the bureaucracy, reduce the efficiency of public services, and undermine public trust in government institutions. This case also shows the weakness of internal and external supervision, as well as the strong influence of transactional politics in appointments. This research recommends the importance of consistent law enforcement and strengthening the meritocracy based selection system to prevent future abuses of power. The limitation of this study is the use of secondary data, so further studies are recommended to use primary data to obtain a more in depth picture.
