Abstract

The use of technology in education has now become a necessity, especially in efforts to improve the quality and effectiveness of the learning process. This study aims to design and develop an interactive learning model based on animation using Flash 8, which is designed to be engaging and effective for elementary school students, as well as to evaluate its impact on students’ motivation and learning outcomes. The main problem addressed is the lack of innovative and interactive learning media at the elementary level that can accommodate students’ visual and kinesthetic learning styles. This issue affects students’ enthusiasm and understanding of the concepts being taught. This research employs a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects are fifth-grade elementary school students, involving teachers and subject matter experts in the media development process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. The development results show that the Flash 8 animation-based learning media demonstrate high levels of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The media validity score of 4.5 out of 5 reflects strong alignment between the content, design, curriculum, and characteristics of elementary students. In terms of practicality, the media were found to be easy to use by both teachers and students during trials, with positive responses from more than 85% of participants. The media’s effectiveness is evident from the increase in students’ learning motivation, indicated by greater participation and interest in learning activities. Thus, it can be concluded that the development of Flash 8-based animation learning media holds great potential for implementation at the elementary school level as a more engaging, interactive, and effective learning tool.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited research on the integration of strategic management and humanistic education within Indonesian Islamic secondary schools, despite the significant potential of their synergy in fostering holistic character development. While previous research has examined character education, school leadership, or humanistic pedagogy in isolation, few have explored how these elements function together within a unified framework—particularly in the context of Madrasah Aliyah. The objective of this study is to analyze how strategic management supports and enhances humanistic educational practices, evaluate the impact of this integration on various dimensions of student character, and identify key sustaining factors at MA Negeri 1 Nganjuk. Utilizing a sequential explanatory mixed-methods design, the study commenced with quantitative surveys followed by qualitative interviews and document analysis. Participants included 150 students, 20 teachers, and 5 administrators selected through stratified random and purposive sampling. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and multiple regression, while qualitative data were thematically interpreted. The findings reveal a significant positive relationship between the integration of strategic management and humanistic education and the development of student traits such as empathy, responsibility, integrity, and religious devotion. Strategic vision, effective resource allocation, and supportive leadership emerged as critical enablers of a humanistic and student-centered educational environment. The study concludes that this integration is vital for nurturing well-rounded character in Islamic schools, offering both theoretical contributions to the discourse on educational leadership and practical guidance for policy formulation, school governance, and curriculum design. It also recommends future longitudinal and comparative studies to further explore the long-term effects and broader applicability of this integrative approach.

Abstract

This study aims to critically analyze the internal and external mechanisms that enable angklung activities in kindergartens in Nganjuk to serve as an effective catalyst for instilling character values and developing artistic appreciation in early childhood, while also identifying associated challenges and opportunities. A qualitative approach was employed using a multi-site case study design grounded in a phenomenological-interpretive lens, allowing for the exploration of subjective narratives and contextual understanding from key participants. The findings reveal that angklung activities, through their collective dynamics and the demand for musical harmony, intrinsically foster the internalization of character values such as discipline, cooperation, empathy, and responsibility—not merely through verbal instruction, but through meaningful, concrete experiences. These results reinforce theories of holistic education and child developmental psychology, while also challenging the dominance of cognitively-focused educational approaches. The implications of this study contribute to the enrichment of arts pedagogy literature rooted in local culture and early childhood character education. Practically, the study offers strategic recommendations for policymakers, particularly local governments and the Ministry of Education, to consider replicating and adapting this angklung-based arts learning model. It also opens avenues for further research on its long-term impacts and variations of implementation across diverse socio-cultural contexts.

Abstract

Although recognition of collaborative learning and culturally responsive pedagogy is increasing, the specific integration of traditional musical instruments such as the angklung into structured collaborative learning management strategies, particularly from the perspective of Islamic education, remains severely underexplored. This study aims to analyze the potential and implications of angklung-based collaborative learning management strategies for promoting the holistic development of students in Islamic educational institutions. Employing a qualitative research design, the study explores how the inherently collaborative nature of angklung performance, when guided by the principles of Islamic pedagogy, can enhance learning outcomes, develop socio-emotional skills, and cultivate spiritual values among students. Preliminary findings indicate that such strategies are capable of improving teamwork, communication, and discipline, while simultaneously deepening students’ appreciation of cultural heritage and Islamic ethics. The integration of angklung into the curriculum provides a unique platform for experiential learning that is aligned with the holistic philosophy of tarbiyah (education) in Islam. The study concludes by affirming the crucial role of culturally sensitive and spiritually grounded educational practices in contemporary Islamic education and advocates the adoption of innovative strategies that harness local arts. The implications of this research include theoretical contributions to the development of culturally responsive pedagogy and Islamic education management, practical guidelines for educators in implementing such strategies, and the opening of a future research agenda on the long-term impact of Islamic education integrated with the arts.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited integration of service quality frameworks and spirituality in Islamic early childhood education, despite their significant role in supporting holistic child development. This study aims to analyze the dialectical relationship between service quality and spirituality based on recent literature published between 2024 and 2025. A qualitative design using a systematic literature review approach was employed. Data were collected from 35 indexed journal articles published during 2024–2025 and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that service quality frameworks are increasingly integrated with Islamic ethical principles, such as amanah and ihsan, while leadership and teacher professionalism function as key mediating factors. In addition, workplace spirituality contributes indirectly to service quality through job satisfaction and organizational commitment. However, challenges remain in policy alignment, teacher training, and technological integration. The study concludes that an integrative model combining spiritual values and quality assurance mechanisms is essential for achieving holistic educational outcomes in Islamic early childhood education. This study contributes to the theoretical development of Islamic education quality models and offers practical recommendations for policymakers and educators to strengthen spiritually grounded quality assurance systems.

Abstract

This study explores Islamic branding as a strategic approach to achieving competitive advantage in Islamic educational institutions in the contemporary global and digital era. Increasing competition among educational providers has encouraged institutions to develop distinctive identities that emphasize not only academic excellence but also ethical and spiritual values. This study aims to analyze how Islamic values are integrated into marketing frameworks, leadership practices, stakeholder engagement, and digital transformation to strengthen institutional branding. A qualitative approach with a conceptual and literature-based design was employed, focusing on recent scholarly works published between 2024 and 2025. Data were collected through a systematic literature review and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings indicate that Islamic branding, when integrated with the 7P marketing mix, enhances institutional credibility, public trust, and stakeholder satisfaction. Leadership, particularly religious leadership represented by kyai, plays a central role in shaping institutional legitimacy and brand identity. Furthermore, digital transformation and artificial intelligence provide new opportunities for branding innovation, although ethical and infrastructural challenges remain significant. The study concludes that Islamic branding must move beyond symbolic representation and be deeply embedded in governance, pedagogy, and institutional culture to achieve sustainable competitive advantage. This study contributes to the theoretical development of Islamic educational management and offers practical recommendations for policymakers and educational leaders in strengthening value-based institutional branding.
