Abstract

The misdiagnosis of student problems by guidance counselors or BK teachers is a serious concern in counseling services at MAN 4 Medan. This study aims to identify the forms of misdiagnosis of student problems by guidance counselors or BK teachers, the impacts of misdiagnosis, and appropriate handling efforts in BK services at MAN 4 Medan. This study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The informants in this study were three guidance counselors or BK teachers and ten students from grades X and XI. Data were analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques. The results showed that the forms of misdiagnosis of student problems by guidance counselors or BK teachers consisted of three types, namely errors in identifying problems, errors in evaluating problems, and errors in determining actions. The impact of misdiagnosis was the incorrect handling of student problems, resulting in problems not being resolved well and potentially worsening the situation for students. Appropriate handling efforts in BK services at MAN 4 Medan include improving the quality of training and supervision for guidance counselors or BK teachers, increasing collaboration between guidance counselors or BK teachers and subject teachers and parents, and increasing the utilization of information and communication technology in counseling services. In conclusion, misdiagnosis of student problems by guidance counselors or BK teachers has a significant impact on students and requires appropriate handling efforts in BK services. Therefore, there needs to be serious attention to the implementation of BK services at MAN 4 Medan to avoid misdiagnosis that can harm students.

Abstract

In this article we include material related to cyber counseling media which is useful for shaping the character or attitude of each student, in this case the development of information and communication technology has had a significant impact on various aspects of human life, including in the field of education . Students in today's digital era tend to be more accustomed to using technology and the internet in everyday life, so it is important to utilize this technology in education. Schools as educational institutions have an important role in shaping students' attitudes and personalities. One aspect that is important to note is the mental health of students. However, there are limitations to conventional counseling services provided by schools, such as limited time and counselors, and the difficulty of student access to counseling locations. Utilization of cyber counseling media can also shape students' modernization attitudes. Students will be accustomed to using technology in everyday life, including in obtaining counseling services. This can help students to improve digital literacy and technology skills which are important in today's digital era

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keefektifan layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik self-control dalam menanggulangi perilaku hedonisme pada mahasiswa BKPI UIN Sumatera Utara angkatan 2020. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 25 mahasiswa yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental dengan one-group pretest-posttest design. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan Skala Perilaku Hedonisme yang dikembangkan oleh peneliti. Hasil analisis data menggunakan paired sample t-test menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan pada tingkat perilaku hedonisme antara sebelum dan sesudah pemberian layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik self-control t (24) = 12,81, p < 0,001). Perhitungan effect size menggunakan Cohen's d menunjukkan nilai d = 2,56, yang termasuk dalam kategori efek sangat besar. Temuan ini mengimplikasikan bahwa layanan bimbingan kelompok dengan teknik self-control dapat menjadi intervensi yang efektif untuk menanggulangi perilaku hedonisme pada mahasiswa.
