Abstract

Abstract

This study analyzes the effect of discrete interest rates and loan terms on the amortization scheme and total debt repayment costs. Debt amortization is a method of paying off loans periodically consisting of principal and interest. Variations in interest rates and loan terms can affect the amount of installments, the proportion of interest payments to principal, and the total costs that must be paid by the borrower. Using a quantitative approach and numerical simulation, this study evaluates the relationship between these variables to understand their impact on the debt repayment structure. The results show that higher interest rates increase total interest expenses, while longer loan terms can reduce monthly installments but increase total repayment costs due to interest accumulation. These findings are expected to help financial institutions in formulating optimal credit policies and provide guidance for borrowers in choosing the most efficient loan scheme.

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors influencing the severity of traffic accidents in Indonesia using binary logistic regression. Data from Kaggle includes variables such as age, gender, driving experience, lighting conditions, and weather conditions. The results indicate that poor lighting and adverse weather significantly increase the likelihood of fatal accidents by 88.8% and 96.5%, respectively. The logistic regression model achieves 76% accuracy with a good data fit (Hosmer-Lemeshow p-value = 0.144). These findings provide valuable insights for traffic safety policies and infrastructure development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of coating solutions consisting of control, lemon water, and salt water on the browning intensity of fresh-cut apples using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Enzymatic browning is a major problem in fresh-cut apples due to the oxidation of phenolic compounds triggered by the activity of the polyphenol oxidase enzyme. Lemon water acts through mechanisms of pH reduction and antioxidant activity, while salt water inhibits browning through ionic effects and osmotic pressure. The experiment was conducted using homogeneous apple units, and the browning scores obtained were analyzed using ANOVA at a 5% significance level. The results showed a significant effect among treatments, with an F-value of 5.136 exceeding the F-table value of 4.226. Lemon water was found to be the most effective in inhibiting browning, followed by salt water, while the control treatment exhibited the highest browning intensity. These findings confirm that simple natural materials can serve as effective anti-browning coatings, especially when applied to homogeneous experimental units using a CRD.
