Abstract

This research aims to explore in depth the various aspects of high school students' development, including physical, cognitive, creativity, personal, self-conception, independence, resilience, interpersonal relationships, moral, and spiritual. The method used is a systematic literature review from various trusted academic sources. The discussion shows that the development of high school students is multidimensional and influenced by complex interactions between genetic and environmental factors. They experience significant changes in these aspects, along with challenges such as academic pressure, interpersonal conflicts, and mental health problems. Appropriate support and guidance from the surrounding environment is necessary to facilitate healthy and optimal growth. This study provides insights for the development of education, guidance, and counseling programs that are appropriate to the developmental stages of high school learners.

Abstract

The digital era has brought significant changes in the behavior patterns and character of the younger generation, marked by increasing cases of character degradation such as cyberbullying and decreasing empathy. This phenomenon demands a comprehensive approach in character development that is able to integrate cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual aspects holistically. This research aims to develop a framework for the integration of Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) in Islamic education that can be implemented to shape the holistic character of students in the digital era. Using literature study method with content analysis technique, this research analyzes various literatures related to SEL and Islamic character education within the last 10 years. The results show the alignment between the core components of SEL and the fundamental values of Islamic education, where self-awareness correlates with the concept of muhasabah, self-management is in line with mujahadah an-nafs, social awareness and relationship skills reflect the value of ukhuwah and husn al-mu'asyarah, and responsible decision making is in line with the concept of maslahah. The developed integration framework has shown positive results in the transformation of learners' character, which is reflected in increased spiritual awareness, emotional maturity, social skills, and self-development. Implementation data showed an average 18% increase in learning achievement and a significant decrease in behavioral problems compared to the control group, indicating the effectiveness of this integrated approach in developing learners' holistic character

Abstract

This study examines the conceptual transformation of Hifdzun Nasl (protection of offspring) within the Maqasid Sharia framework as a response to the Childfree phenomenon that is increasingly prevalent in contemporary society. Through a deconstructive approach to classical interpretation, this study aims to map the paradigmatic shift of the concept of Hifdzun Nasl from traditional formulation to modern contextualization, and analyze its implications in the reformulation of Islamic family law. The research methodology combines substantive content analysis with comparative literature studies sourced from classical and contemporary ushul fiqh books. The results identify an epistemological limitation in the conventional interpretation of Hifdzun Nasl, which dominantly emphasizes aspects of biological procreation alone. Contemporary reorientation offers a conceptual expansion that includes dimensions of generational quality, ecological sustainability, and non-biological manifestations of offspring. The analysis shows that the reconceptualization of Hifdzun Nasl opens a discursive space for the legitimization of Childfree choices in an Islamic juridical perspective, with significant implications for the reconfiguration of fundamental aspects of marriage law, inheritance, and alternative parenting. This research contributes to the development of Maqasid epistemology that is more inclusive and responsive to contemporary social dynamics, as well as offering a theoretical framework for integrating the phenomenon of Childfree into the discourse of Islamic family law without distorting the fundamental principles of Sharia. These findings emphasize the urgency of a progressive-contextual approach in the interpretation of Maqasid to answer the complexity of family law problems in the modern era

Abstract

In the modern era, moral education has become increasingly important as rapid developments in science and technology, coupled with globalization, have brought significant value changes in society. This study examines the Islamic perspective on moral values (akhlaq) and their fundamental role in Islamic education. Using a qualitative library research approach, this study analyzes primary Islamic sources including the Quran and Hadith, along with classical and contemporary Islamic scholarship on moral philosophy. The research explores the ontological, epistemological, and axiological dimensions of moral values in Islam, examining how Islamic moral principles are derived, understood, and applied. The findings reveal that Islamic moral values are grounded in divine revelation, characterized by their absolute, universal, and objective nature. The study demonstrates that moral education in Islam aims to develop insan kamil (perfect human beings) who embody noble character traits while avoiding reprehensible qualities. Classical Islamic philosophers such as Al-Ghazali, Al-Farabi, and Ibn Miskawaih contributed significantly to moral philosophy, emphasizing the connection between morality and human happiness. The research concludes that Islamic moral values serve as a comprehensive guide for human conduct, providing both worldly and spiritual guidance that remains relevant in contemporary contexts.
