Abstract

In an era where corporate ethics are increasingly scrutinized, the question arises: can social responsibility truly enhance a company's competitive edge? This study aims to analyze the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on the competitiveness of Sharia companies in the international market. Using a quantitative approach and secondary data from 30 Sharia companies listed on the stock exchange during the period of 2015-2023, this research found a significant positive relationship between CSR and the competitiveness of companies. The regression analysis results indicate that each one-unit increase in CSR value is associated with a 0.45 unit increase in company competitiveness. These findings suggest that Sharia companies actively engaged in CSR not only enhance their reputation but also strengthen their position in the international market. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of the role of CSR in the business strategies of Sharia companies.

Abstract

Abstracts into the fabric of our humanity. Human rights are a divine gift that enable every individual to fulfill their role as stewards of the Earth (khalifatullah), without any form of discrimination. Despite this, some groups argue that Islamic law does not embrace Western conceptions of human rights, instead seeing it as a framework that focuses primarily on obligations and obedience to divine commands. The method used by researchers aims to describe, understand and explain the object under study based on data obtained through literature data regarding discussions that focus on Human Rights in an Islamic Perspective so that answers can be obtained which can ultimately be explained in detail. Research conducted by this author reveals that the Islamic approach to human rights embodies universal and timeless principles that resonate across cultures. Rather than offering apologies, it is important to acknowledge that Islam has been a pioneer in articulating the concepts of equality, universality, and democracy. As a comprehensive religion, Islam encompasses all dimensions of human existence, guiding individuals towards a holistic understanding of rights and responsibilities.

Abstract

The study of the Qur’anic verses revealed in a certain historical context (asbāb al-nuzūl) is often trapped in a textual approach that limits the meaning of the verse only to the background of the event. As a result, the potential for transformation of meaning and ethical messages that are relevant to the contemporary socio-religious context is neglected. One of the verses that is frequently interpreted in a narrow sense is QS. al-Tawbah [9]:6, which was revealed in the context of protection against the polytheists, so that they could hear the word of God. This study aims to review the verse through Abdullah Saeed’s contextual interpretation approach, by exploring its linguistic dimensions, socio-historical context, and potential moral and ethical messages in the reality of religious pluralism today. This study found that the verse implies an opportunity for da‘wā in religious plurality. This is based on the meaning of istajāra which not only means protection, but also points to closeness and peaceful coexistence; mushrikīn can be understood as a representation of adherents of other religions; and kalām Allāh includes all Islamic teachings, not limited to the literal Qur’an. This finding confirms that contextual reading allows the actualization of the inclusive values of the Qur’an as an ethical basis in building interfaith relations in a multicultural society.

Abstract

The tradition of peusijuek is a cultural heritage of the Acehnese people that has undergone acculturation with Islamic values. This tradition means asking for coolness, peace, and blessings without contradicting the principles of Sharia law. This study aims to understand the tradition of peusijuek from a psychosufistic perspective, which is an approach that integrates Sufi values and Islamic psychology based on tauhid. The method used is qualitative with a field research approach through participatory and non-participatory observation, interviews, and documentation, which are then analyzed descriptively and analytically. The results of the study indicate that peusijuek not only strengthens the spiritual relationship between humans and God (habl min Allāh) but also reinforces social solidarity (habl min al-nās). This tradition reflects psychosophical values such as gratitude, prayer, mahabbah, khawf, and rajā’, which contribute to the formation of psychological balance and spiritual awareness in society. Thus, peusijuek is not merely a ceremonial ritual but a real representation of relevant psychological and spiritual harmony that needs to be preserved in the face of modern dynamics
