Abstract

Chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum sp.) is an ornamental plant of high economic value with a continuously increasing demand, necessitating efficient production methods. Tissue culture techniques are one of the solutions that enable rapid and disease-free plant propagation. This study aims to evaluate the effect of organic supplements on the growth of chrysanthemum explants. The research was conducted using a completely randomized design with six treatments, namely control (without supplements), banana extract, corn seed extract, coconut water, and combinations of coconut water with banana and corn seed extracts. The results show that the banana extract supplement at a concentration of 50 g/L provides the best growth in terms of plantlet height, number of leaves, and roots compared to other treatments. The combination of coconut water and banana extract also significantly enhances growth. This study concludes that the use of organic supplements can improve the efficiency of chrysanthemum propagation through tissue culture, supporting more sustainable ornamental plant production.

Abstract

Pemerintah terus berupaya unuk meningkatkan produksi hasil pertanian dalam rangka mencapai swasembada pangan, namun berbagai hal masih menjadi permasalahan petani karena seringnya terjadi kelangkaan pupuk bersubsidi dan meningkatnya gangguan serangan hama dan penyakit. Desa Pattapang, Kec. Tinggimoncong, Kab. Gowa, merupakan salah satu desa sentra pengembangan komoditas kentang di Kabupaten Gowa. Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan kapasitas anggota kelompok tani dibawah kordinasi P4S Buluballea Kelurahan Pattapang melalui inovasi produk olahan limbah sayuran dan buah menjadi POC, dan produk PGPR menggunakan akar bambu. Program ini penting mengingat sebagian besar anggota kelompok tani adalah wanita tani yang banyak berurusan dengan limbah organic hasil pertanian yang tidak dimanfaatkan dengan baik. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Research, yang teridiri atas beberapa tahap sepertiĀ  sosialisasi program, pelatihan, pembuatan POC dan PGPR, serta pendampingan aplikasi produkl. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta tentang pengolahan limbah sayuran dan buah serta pepenggunaan akar bambu dalam pembuatan PGPR. yang diukur menggunakan kuesioner pre-test dan post-test. Selain itu, peserta menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi untuk mengaplikasikan POC dan PGPR sehingga berpotensi dalam meningkatkan produksi hasil usahataninya

Abstract

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of seed soaking duration in Plant Growth Promotion Rhizobacteria (PGPR) solution and NPK fertilizer dosage on the growth of mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.). The research was conducted from April to May 2024 in Takalar Regency, South Sulawesi. A Randomized Block Design (RBD) with a factorial pattern of two factors was used, namely the duration of seed soaking in the PGPR solution and the dosage of NPK fertilizer. The results showed that the duration of seed soaking in the PGPR solution significantly influenced germination, with a 15-minute soaking period yielding the best results, achieving a germination rate of 99.98%. Additionally, the combination of seed soaking duration and NPK fertilizer dosage also affected plant height and yield.
