Abstract

HIV/AIDS is a growing global health issue, with an increasing prevalence of cases among adolescents. Adolescents, as a group vulnerable to risky behaviors, require appropriate education on HIV/AIDS prevention. Health education through technology-based learning media, such as social media, educational videos, and other interactive platforms, holds significant potential in improving adolescents' understanding of HIV/AIDS. This study aims to explore the role of learning media in enhancing adolescents' knowledge and awareness about HIV/AIDS. The community service project was conducted at SMAN 76 Jakarta Timur, involving 75 productive-age adolescents. The activity began with a pre-test to assess initial knowledge, followed by an educational session that included a 20-minute video presentation and material discussion, as well as an interactive discussion. After the session, a post-test was administered to measure changes in participants' understanding and awareness levels. The results showed a significant improvement in knowledge about HIV/AIDS and awareness of the importance of prevention. The use of social media as a primary information source also increased, while conventional media such as television and radio saw a decline. These findings suggest that technology-based learning media can be an effective tool in delivering health education. However, attention must be given to the quality of information to avoid the spread of misinformation, and it is crucial to involve medical professionals and reputable institutions in the creation of educational content.

Background: Cormobid, one of the aggravating factors for COVID-19 sufferers, is hypertension. Therefore, cormobid COVID-19 sufferers can have a longer length of stay. Purpose: Thus, the researcher did a study at Soedarso Hospital in Pontianak City to find out what makes COVID-19 sufferers with hypertension cormobid stay in the hospital longer. Methods: The study used a retrospective design with a total sampling method of 204 data (15 March 2021 - 30 April 2022). Data analysis using Spearman test and ETA Correlation. Results: The Spearman test showed that there was a relationship between age (P-value 0.000, r 0.255), leukocytes (P-value 0.000, r=0.513), symptoms of COVID-19 (P-value 0.000, r=0.592), cormobid (P-value 0.002, r= 0.300) with length of hospitalization. The ETA test showed a relationship between sex (F table > F result, 3.89 > 8.14) and length of stay. Symptoms of covid-19 are the most related to the standard coefficient of beta 2,559. Conclusion: Factors affecting the length of stay for Covid-19 sufferers are age, gender, leukocytes, symptoms, and cormobid. However, the dominant factor for Covid-19 sufferers is the symptoms of Covid-19.

Abstract

Background: Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is a digestive tract disorder caused by gastric acid reflux that causes typical symptoms, such as heartburn and regurgitation. Unhealthy lifestyle and diet are the main risk factors for GERD. Therefore, it is important to identify knowledge and behavior factors as preventive components. Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and GERD prevention behavior at the Mampang Prapatan District Health Center. Method: This study used a descriptive correlation design and a cross-sectional approach. The sample of this study was 97 respondents with a history of GERD, taken using a total sampling technique. Data collection used a questionnaire and was analyzed using the Fisher-Freeman-Halton Exact Test. Results: The results showed that 80.4% of respondents had good knowledge and 47.4% showed good prevention behavior. Statistical tests showed a p-value <0.001, which indicates a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and GERD prevention behavior. Conclusion: A good level of knowledge has a positive effect on GERD prevention behavior. This study emphasizes the importance of developing health education, both directly and through digital media, to increase public awareness of preventive behaviors and improve the quality of life of GERD sufferers in a sustainable manner.
