Abstract

Nowadays there are many variations of techniques in making and developing batik, one of which is using materials from plants to make patterns. The ecoprint technique uses natural materials from plants to print patterns on fabric, thereby reducing dependence on chemicals and providing added value to local products. This activity is a form of our service to the community of Remodong Indah Village which aims to provide training and develop the potential of local wisdom and to introduce environmentally friendly batik techniques to the community in Remodong Indah Village. Indicators of the success of this activity are the availability of plant raw materials for making patterns, active participation of training participants, involvement of community leaders, activeness of participants, skills in carrying out the stages of the activity, and implementation of the program. The target of this community service activity is the residents of Remodong Indah Village, especially mothers. Data collection was carried out through observation and questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out descriptively. This can also be seen from the increase in knowledge and skills in making batik using the ecoprint technique as shown by the results of the questionnaire given during counseling and evaluation. This journal discusses the training process, methods used, training results, and the impact on the community in Remodong Indah Village. Keywords: Batik Making, Eco Print Technique

Abstract

The village serves as both a unit of government and a social living space closest to the community's daily life; consequently, various forms of social friction such as disputes between residents, family conflicts, land boundary disagreements, and minor quarrels frequently arise within it. Addressing these issues requires an adequate understanding of the law to ensure they are resolved appropriately without escalating into larger conflicts. This community service initiative was an individual program undertaken as part of the Student Community Service (KKN) by a student from Universitas Muhammadiyah Luwuk in Luk Village, Peling Tengah District. It employed a restorative justice approach an alternative dispute resolution method emphasizing the restoration of relationships, the fulfillment of victims' interests, and the accountability of offenders. The activity aimed to foster legal awareness among residents and introduce restorative justice principles as a peaceful yet legally grounded method for resolving disputes. The implementation process involved stages of observation, coordination, material preparation, outreach/dissemination, and evaluation, engaging the village government, the Village Consultative Body (BPD), community leaders, traditional leaders, youth, and general residents. The outreach session was attended by dozens of participants from various segments of society, who demonstrated great enthusiasm during both the presentation and the Q&A session. The results indicated an improvement in participants' understanding of legal concepts, the characteristics of a Law-Conscious Village, restorative justice principles, and the scope of their application; the activity also underscored the strategic role of village officials and traditional leaders in maintaining social order. This initiative represents a crucial first step toward building a culture of law based on deliberation (*musyawarah*) at the village level, a process that should be followed up with periodic legal education involving law enforcement agencies and higher education institutions.
