Abstract

A positive school environment is essential to support individual learning and growth and create effective and productive learning experiences. Good classroom management is also crucial for creating conducive conditions, removing barriers and providing facilities that support students' development according to their social, emotional and intellectual needs. The results showed that in class XII IPA, a conducive classroom atmosphere plays a big role in supporting learning, while in class XI IPS, effective classroom management is more important to create a safe and comfortable environment. Non-academic activities, such as the JB4 program, increased student engagement and improved the school environment. Overall, the collaboration between teachers, students and school programs creates an environment that supports optimal student development.

Abstract

Psychological assessment has an important role in supporting guidance and counseling services. Through assessment, counselors can understand the potential, needs, and problems of students objectively. This article aims to examine how assessments help counselors understand counselees and describe assessment techniques commonly used in schools. The method used is a literature study by reviewing various journals and scientific sources. The results show that assessment serves as a diagnosis, prediction, monitoring, and evaluation tool in counseling. Non-test techniques such as interviews, observations, and questionnaires are used more often because they do not require special licenses. Meanwhile, test techniques such as achievement, interest, and aptitude tests are used in a limited context. The selection of appropriate assessment techniques and their ethical and professional implementation will help counselors develop appropriate interventions. Therefore, improving counselors' competence in conducting assessments is necessary.
