Abstract

The development of information technology can have a major impact in various aspects of life, including education. Technology can have a positive impact, such as easy access to teaching materials and online learning if used properly. However, inappropriate use of technology can have a negative impact on students' attitudes, ethics and character. This study aims to analyze the influence of technology and social media use on student character building using the literature review method. Based on the results of the research, it is found that technology and social media have a negative influence on students' morals, communication and responsibility, so in this case education has an important role to manage the negative impacts that arise with moral education, habituation and exemplary.

Abstract

Teachers are the main actors in the education system who have an important role in educating the nation's life and shaping the character of the nation's next generation. However, the challenges of the times such as technological developments, curriculum changes, and the diversity of students require teachers to continue to develop their professionalism. This study aims to examine the characteristics of professional teachers as well as the challenges and relevant strategies in improving the quality of the teaching profession in the modern era. The method used is a literature review of various journals and scientific articles published between 2018 and 2025. The results show that professional teachers have characteristics such as commitment to the profession, ability to guide students, participation in professional organizations, and adherence to regulations. The main challenges faced by teachers include the dynamics of curriculum change, student diversity, and high administrative workload. Strategies to strengthen teacher professionalism include continuous training, strengthening reflective values and collaboration in learning communities. By understanding the nature of professionalism and the professional code of ethics, teachers are expected to carry out their roles effectively and become agents of change in the world of education.
