Abstract

Introduction: The complex work environment and task responsibilities in hospitals play a major role in the personal aspects of staff, including fatigue and workload felt by nurses. Quality of Life Professional (QOL) of nurses is important to realize productivity and quality of service in hospitals. Objective: To analyze the relationship of fatigue level and workload with nurses' professional quality of life. Method: The research method used was cross sectional with purposive sampling technique of 44 nurse respondents from a private hospital in Palembang City. Data analysis used was Chi Square test. Results: The results of the study showed that the level of fatigue of nurses at the Muhammadiyah Hospital in Palembang was an average of 55.69, the majority of nurses' workload was in the medium category of 18 respondents (40.0%), and the quality of professional life of nurses was in the high category of 23 respondents (51.13%) with statistical results using the Chi Square test with a p value of 0.023 (p <0.05). Conclusion: Strategies are needed to optimize the management of nurses' fatigue levels and workload both personally and by institutions in order to support nurses' improved professional quality of life.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is the third leading cause of death after stroke and tuberculosis, accounting for 6.7% of deaths across all ages in Indonesia. Hypertension is known as the silent killer because its symptoms are often asymptomatic. Hypertension can be managed pharmacologically and non-pharmacologically. Non-pharmacological management includes healthy lifestyle changes such as a low-salt diet, exercise, and smoking cessation, as well as warm water immersion therapy at 39-40°C. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of foot immersion therapy in lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Method: This case study of nursing care was conducted at Malang City Hospital. The subject of this study was a patient referred to as Mr. A. The intervention was administered for three days, involving foot immersion therapy using warm water at 39-40°C. Results: After three consecutive days of foot immersion therapy, Mr. A's blood pressure decreased. Mr. A's blood pressure decreased to 147/88 mmHg from 158/100 mmHg on the first day. Conclusion: Foot soak therapy is effective in reducing Mr. A's blood pressure.   Keywords: Foot Soak Therapy; Hypertension; Non-Pharmacological.   Pendahuluan: Hipertensi merupakan penyebab kematian nomor tiga setelah stroke dan tuberkulosis, yakni mencapai 6.7% dari populasi kematian pada semua umur di Indonesia. Hipertensi disebut sebagai pembunuh senyap karena gejalanya sering tanpa keluhan. Penatalaksanaan hipertensi dapat dilakukan secara farmakologis maupun non farmakologis. Penatalaksanaan non farmakologis diantaranya dengan mengubah gaya hidup sehat seperti diet rendah garam, olahraga dan tidak merokok, dan terapi rendam air hangat dengan temperature 39-40oC. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui efektivitas terapi rendam kaki dalam menurunkan tingkat tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi. Metode: Penelitian studi kasus asuhan keperawatan yang dilakukan di RS Kota Malang. Subjek penelitian ini adalah satu orang yang disebut sebagai Tn. A. Intervensi dilakukan selama tiga hari dengan pemberian terapi rendam kaki menggunakan air hangat dengan temperatur 39-40oC. Hasil: Setelah tiga hari berturut-turut diberikan intervensi berupa terapi rendam kaki, tekanan darah Tn. A menurun menjadi 147/88 mmHg dari yang sebelumnya pada hari pertama sebesar 158/100 mmHg. Simpulan: Ada efektifitas pemberian terapi rendam kaki terhadap tekanan darah Tn. A.   Kata Kunci: Hipertensi; Non Farmakologis; Terapi Rendam Kaki.
