Abstract

This research aims to improve the understanding of slow learner students in grade 6 in Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) subjects by applying the theory of multiple intelligences through an inclusive learning model. The focus of this research material is on continents. Slow learner students have difficulty reading, so their learning goals are different from non-slow learner students. Non-slow learner students are expected to be able to understand and detail the six continents, while slow learner students are expected to be able to read and write the names of the six continents. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out inductively to find patterns and themes that emerged from the field data. The research results show that the theory of applying multiple intelligences and inclusive learning models is able to improve the basic literacy skills of slow learner students and provide meaningful learning experiences for non-slow learner students. Apart from that, inclusive learning that is tailored to individual needs can increase the learning motivation of slow learner students. The conclusion of this research is that a learning approach that combines the theory of multiple intelligences and an inclusive model is effective in increasing the understanding of students with special needs. It is recommended that teachers continue to develop learning strategies that suit students' learning styles and carry out ongoing evaluations to maximize the potential of each student.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of cases of sexual violence against children and the importance of providing preventive education that is appropriate to the developmental characteristics of elementary school children. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the storytelling method in education on preventing sexual violence against children at Tanjung Ilir Elementary School. The study used a qualitative approach with a descriptive approach. The subjects were 10 students from Tanjung Ilir Elementary School who participated in educational activities and mentoring by the Indonesian Brother and Sister Foundation. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation and interviews. The results showed that the storytelling method was able to create an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere, making it easier for students to understand the material presented. The educational activities were carried out through several stages: an introduction, telling the story "It Turns Out Mr. Mustache...", delivering the main material, and reinforcement activities such as singing and educational games. The use of hand puppets, expressions, intonation, and active interaction from the facilitator proved effective in attracting attention and increasing student participation throughout the activity. Furthermore, students were able to understand the material on preventing sexual violence, such as recognizing private body parts, understanding inappropriate behavior, and knowing what to do when facing uncomfortable situations. Thus, the storytelling method can be an effective educational medium for preventing sexual violence against elementary school children.

Abstract

Sexual violence against children and adolescents remains a serious problem that often goes unreported due to social stigma, fear, and low awareness of victims to report. In this context, the role of volunteers from the Indonesian Safe Brother Foundation is crucial in fostering the courage to speak up as a form of self-protection. This study aims to analyze the role of volunteers in providing education and building children's courage to disclose experiences of sexual violence. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study, while data collection techniques include in-depth interviews and observations. The main research subjects included three volunteers and three elementary school children who were the targets of the education program. The results show that volunteers play a crucial role as educational agents in building children's courage to speak up. Through a child-friendly and participatory approach, volunteers successfully increased children's understanding of body boundaries, types of sexual violence, and self-protection steps such as "no, run, report."

Abstract

Sexual violence against children is still a serious problem in Indonesia which is influenced by children's low understanding of personal body boundaries and dangerous situations. Therefore, preventive efforts are needed through early education with an approach that is appropriate to the child's characteristics. This activity aims to increase children's understanding and awareness of the prevention of sexual violence through an educational approach based on interactive activities in the Pekijing Literacy Village. The implementation method is carried out through the coordination, implementation and evaluation stages using storytelling, singing and educational games. The target of the activity is school-age children who are given an understanding of private body parts, inappropriate behavior, and how to protect themselves from dangerous situations. The results of the activity show an increase in children's understanding of recognizing private body parts, the ability to identify behavior that leads to sexual violence, and the courage to refuse and report inappropriate actions. The interactive approach is also able to increase children's participation and involvement during the activity. Thus, an educational approach based on interactive activities can be an effective preventive strategy in efforts to prevent sexual violence against children from an early age.

Abstract

This activity aims to provide education on self-protection from sexual violence to elementary school-aged children through an interactive storytelling approach in the public space of the Ats-Tsauroh Mosque in Serang City. The background to this activity is based on children's low understanding of their private bodies and limited sexual literacy due to a lack of education appropriate to children's developmental characteristics. The activity was carried out directly in the public space of the Ats-Tsauroh Mosque in Serang City, involving elementary school-aged children and their accompanying parents. Education was delivered through interactive storytelling combined with discussions, questions and answers, and simple educational games to increase participant engagement. The results of the activity showed that children had a better understanding of self-protection concepts, such as recognizing private body parts, understanding their boundaries, and knowing how to respond to unsafe situations. Furthermore, conducting the activity in a public space created a more open atmosphere and encouraged active participant participation. Therefore, the interactive storytelling approach in community service activities in public spaces can be an effective educational strategy in increasing children's understanding of self-protection from sexual violence.
