Abstract

The Influence of Traditional Games Rubber Rope Jumping and Sack Racing on Improving Squat Style Long Jump Skills in Eighth Grade Students at MTs NW Menceh Abstract This study addresses the low squat-style long jump skills among eighth-grade students at MTs NW Menceh. The objective was to assess the effects of traditional games, rubber rope jumping, and sack racing, on improving these skills. Using a quasi-experimental method with a "One Group Pretest-Posttest" design, the study involved 30 students divided into two groups. Results indicate that sack racing significantly improved long jump skills, with an average increase from 331.93 cm to 341.67 cm (Sig. 0.015 < 0.05). In contrast, rubber rope jumping showed no significant improvement, with an average change from 325.73 cm to 328.27 cm (Sig. 0.459 > 0.05). It is concluded that sack racing is more effective than rubber rope jumping in enhancing squat-style long jump skills, so that teachers can consider using sack racing as a motor training method.
