Abstract

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) constitute a pivotal element in accelerating the acceptance of electric automobiles and advancing the transition toward sustainable energy within Indonesia. The objective of this paper is to discern the determinants that shape individual preferences in acquiring kilowatt-hours through SPKLU in the operational jurisdiction of PT PLN (Persero) Unit Induk Distribusi Jakarta Raya. The variables under scrutiny encompass the components of the marketing mix, namely merchandise, pricing, site, publicity, station attendants, operational procedure, and tangible manifestation. This investigation employed quantitative descriptive as well as causal approaches, with data processing executed through multiple linear regression facilitated by SPSS version 30. The findings reveal that advantageous placement, clarity of tariffs, and digitalised publicity exert a notable impact on consumers’ resolutions regarding SPKLU utilisation. This study suggests increasing the number of SPKLU in strategic locations, providing tariff information transparency through digital media, and increasing promotions through applications and social media campaigns. Further researchers can further examine the psychological, social, and behavioral components of consumers that influence the decision to use SPKLU.

Abstract

An efficient electrical system is essential to meet the energy needs of the community without incurring high operational costs. This study aims to compare the total operational costs of power plants during three extreme time periods: low load (00:00–05:00), medium load (06:00–18:00), and high load (19:00–23:00), and to determine the most efficient combination of power plants using the Unit Commitment (UC) method based on priority list techniques. The study was conducted on the Bengkulu regional power system with the assumption of zero startup costs due to data limitations. Simulation results show that coal-fired power plants (IPP), hydroelectric power plants, and micro-hydro power plants serve as the base load power plants that are always active due to their low operational costs, while diesel power plants are only used as supplements when load exceeds the capacity of the main power plants. The lowest total operational cost occurs during low-load periods at Rp 40,936,446/hour, while the highest cost occurs during peak-load periods at Rp 65,040,329/hour. This finding confirms that optimizing the combination of power plants based on cost efficiency can significantly reduce operational expenses. In the future, it is expected that the electricity system can adopt smart grid technology to reduce, even eliminate, the use of inefficient diesel power plants.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the performance of the construction project of the Parit Baru Site Bengkayang Steam Power Plant (2 x 50 MW) in terms of cost and time using the Earned Value Management (EVM) method. Common issues in large-scale construction projects include delays and cost overruns, which negatively affect the efficiency and effectiveness of project implementation. EVM is an analytical method that integrates the measurement of time and cost performance, allowing the assessment of deviations from the initial project plan. This research uses actual project cost and schedule data obtained from monthly PLTU progress reports. Analysis was conducted on key variables such as Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), and Actual Cost (AC). By calculating performance indicators such as the Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI), it was revealed that the project experienced deviations in both schedule and cost. The results of the analysis show that EVM provides comprehensive information on project performance and is highly beneficial as a control tool for future projects. This study also provides recommendations to improve the effectiveness of planning and control in similar electricity infrastructure projects.

Abstract

This study analyzes power losses due to load imbalance and the calculation of losses in distribution transformers at the Merauke City Customer Service Unit (ULP). The results show that most distribution transformers on the Angkasa, Bampel, Parako, Kompi, and Ermasu feeders experienced load imbalances exceeding the 20% tolerance limit according to SPLN D3.002-1:2014 standards, contributing to increased neutral currents and power losses, particularly in transformers with heavy loads and uneven phase distribution. After phase current balancing using ETAB 19, significant reductions in neutral current and losses were observed, with transformer efficiency increasing by an average of 2-5% per unit. A feeder-based, data-driven balancing strategy, involving the redistribution of load from dominant phases to deficit phases along with regular monitoring, proved effective in improving distribution system efficiency, extending transformer lifespan, and enhancing voltage quality for customers. These findings provide an operational basis for PLN ULP Merauke to prioritize distribution network improvements, maintain a minimum bus voltage profile of 93–95%, and reduce operational costs through regular load balancing.
