Abstract

This study examines the role of religious education in shaping students' independence and character development, particularly within Islamic boarding schools (pesantren). Religion plays a fundamental role in instilling moral values and guiding behavior, and in the pesantren environment, religious practices such as communal prayers, Qur’an recitation, and adherence to Islamic rituals foster noble character traits among students. Islamic education in pesantren not only deepens students' religious knowledge but also encourages the application of Islamic teachings in daily life, promoting personal growth and social responsibility. This study uses the Service Learning (SL) approach, combining academic learning with real-world community engagement. SL projects were conducted within pesantren settings, allowing students to practice autonomy and responsibility through community-centered projects that reflect Islamic values of self-reliance and compassion. Results indicate that students demonstrate a significant understanding of independence, relating it to Islamic principles such as self-sufficiency, resilience, and trust in God after putting forth effort. Findings suggest that students internalize the concept of independence not only as the ability to manage their own needs but also as a commitment to positively impacting their surroundings. The SL approach strengthens this sense of responsibility, bridging theoretical lessons with practical applications that enhance social skills, critical thinking, and self-discipline. The study concludes that pesantren education, enriched with SL-based activities, effectively nurtures independent, socially responsible individuals prepared to face contemporary challenges. Contribution: This research contributes to the discourse on educational methodologies in religious contexts, providing a framework for enhancing character education through experiential learning that aligns with Islamic principles.

Abstract

This article aims to analyze the regulations governing stock waqf, which forms the basis for implementing stock waqf in Indonesia. Stock waqf involves movable property categorized as securities. The study employs a qualitative approach, drawing data from relevant literature on waqf. Qualitative data collection techniques include literature review related to waqf. Descriptive data analysis is used to describe and analyze the research findings. The research indicates that regulations governing stock waqf implementation are not yet comprehensive. This is due to the absence of detailed rules regarding procedures for stock waqf (Islamic endowment), whether by donating stock lots, dividends, or capital gains. The permissibility of stock waqf dividends is based on the Hanafi opinion, while the permissibility of stocks endowment stock lots is based on the Shāfi'i opinion, So basically the two types of waqf object, namely waqf in the form of dividens and lots of Shariah Shares can be used as waqf objects. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis regulasi wakaf saham yang dijadikan landasan pelaksanaan wakaf saham di Indonesia. Wakaf saham merupakan wakaf benda bergerak yang masuk dalam kategori surat berharga. Artikel ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan sumber data diambil dari literatur-literatur yang berkaitan dengan wakaf. Jenis data yang digunakan dalam artikel ini adalah data kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara penelusuran kepustakaan yang berkaitan dengan wakaf. Teknik analisis data deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini guna mendeskripsikan hasil penelitian beserta analisis dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan menunjukan bahwa aturan mengenai pelaksanaan wakaf saham belum menyeluruh. Hal ini berdasarkan belum adanya aturan yang terperinci mengenai tata cara wakaf saham baik dengan mewakafkan lot saham maupun deviden atau capital gainnya. Kebolehan mewakafkan dividen saham berdasarkan pada pendapat Hanafiyah sedangkan kebolehan mewakafkan lot saham berdasarkan pendapat Syafi’iyah, sehingga pada dasarnya kedua jenis benda wakaf tersebut yaitu wakaf berupa deviden dan lot saham Syariah dapat dijadikan sebagai objek benda wakaf.

Abstract

This research analyzes Al-Qurtubi and Quraish Shihab regarding the riba verse and its implications for financial awareness. The instructions in the Qur'an are clear about the haram and the dangers of usury for humans. However, the reality on the ground is that there are still many people who fall into usury. So that his financial affairs have worldly problems and his spiritual blessings are lost. This research aims to understand the integral conception of usury through the interpretation of Al-Qurtubi and Quraish Shihab, their correlation or differentiation, and their implications. The authors collect verses related to usury and their interpretations, develop a theoretical basis, analyze the correlation and differentiation, and put forward the implications. This process uses comparative analysis by compromising the interpretation of the books Al-Qurtubi and Al-Misbah. The research uses a descriptive-analytical method with a qualitative model through literature study. The results of the research show that the verses of the Qur'an about usury are spread across four suras, namely Al-Baqarah[2]: 275-279, Ali-Imran[3]: 130-132, An-Nisa[4]: 160-161, and Ar-Rum[30]: 39. According to the two commentators, the law of usury is haram. The legal illat is the addition of debt due to deferrals and excesses in contracts or certain staple foods. Understanding this interpretation has positive implications for the financial awareness of believers who are true to their faith.

Abstract

The interpretation of the Tabi'in is one of the interpretations that has a high position in interpretation. The narration taken from the Tabi'in is categorized by some scholars as the interpretation of bi al-ma'ṡūr, which in terms of narration, the interpretation of the Tabi'in has the same authority as the interpretation of the Companions. However, acceptance and rejection were expressed towards one of the Tabi'in scholars, Qotadah bin Di'amah, who was accused by some scholars of being a Qodariyyah scholar. This research was conducted using library research and aims to reveal the results of Imam Qotadah's interpretation, examining his position in the interpretation of the Tabi'in. The results obtained from this research are that through the analysis of his interpretation, no strong evidence was found that Qotadah was a Qodariyyah scholar, which further confirms his credibility which has implications for the authority of the Tabi'in interpretation.
