Abstract

This research investigates the transformation of pesantren education through the reinforcement of core values, which are realized and implemented in various programs at pesantren. Employing a qualitative case study methodology, the study systematically explores pertinent issues, analyzes data, and presents findings. The focal point of this research is Nurul Jadid University (UNUJA), an Islamic boarding school located in Probolinggo, which has consistently upheld the Trilogy and Five Awareness of Students since its establishment. These values are not merely rhetorical but function as foundational guidelines for curriculum development, ensuring their application across all institutional levels. The research is structured into two primary segments: (1) the Trilogy paradigm and Five Awareness of Students, and (2) the implementation of the transformation of pesantren education through curriculum development at UNUJA. The results show that UNUJA preserves these values through five strategic initiatives: (1) integrating the pesantren curriculum with university courses by incorporating local content, (2) providing extracurricular programs to enhance student competencies, (3) organizing seminars, workshops, and public discussions, (4) executing the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program while upholding pesantren values, and (5) enforcing campus regulations through an ethics court for both lecturers and students. The study suggests that UNUJA effectively integrates pesantren values with contemporary educational practices, thereby reinforcing its identity as a pesantren-based university. This approach yields graduates who are both ethically grounded and professionally competent, presenting a sustainable model for Islamic educational institutions as they navigate the challenges of modernization. The framework established by UNUJA serves as a valuable reference for other pesantren seeking to balance tradition with innovation.

Abstract

This community service activity was realized through a learning assistance program focused on increasing students' interest in learning Arabic. The program was implemented at Ban-Choairong Elementary School, located in Choairong Village, Narathiwat Province, Thailand. The school faces major challenges, such as low literacy levels and reduced memory retention among students. To address these issues, the author conducted a three-month program using a learning-through-play approach. The main goal of the program was to improve the quality of education through interactive teaching methods. In addition to assisting students in their learning, the author also provided training for teachers to help them implement more effective and creative teaching strategies. The stages of the program implementation included: (1) Coordination with the Narathiwat Provincial Education Office, (2) Coordination meetings with the school principal and teachers, (3) Determination of the program's direction, (4) Implementation of the learning assistance activities, (5) Evaluation, and (6) Preparation of reports and publication. The results of this program were quite significant. First, students showed increased interest in reading, writing, and memorizing Arabic vocabulary (mufradat). Second, students' motivation improved, as seen in their willingness to read Arabic sentences correctly and attend additional classes during holidays. Third, teachers became more creative in their teaching, evidenced by the students' improved focus and reduced tendency to play during lessons.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengevaluasi strategi efektif dalam mengelola kelas guna meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa di sekolah dasar. Kedisiplinan merupakan aspek penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif, yang pada gilirannya dapat meningkatkan prestasi akademik dan perkembangan karakter siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan melibatkan siswa kelas V di SD Negeri 1 Lumbang sebagai subjek penelitian. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dengan guru, serta angket kedisiplinan yang diisi oleh siswa sebelum dan setelah implementasi strategi pengelolaan kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi pengelolaan kelas yang meliputi aturan kelas yang jelas dan konsisten, pemberian penghargaan dan konsekuensi yang adil, serta pendekatan yang mendukung komunikasi efektif antara guru dan siswa, dapat secara signifikan meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa. Siswa menjadi lebih tertib, tepat waktu, dan menunjukkan peningkatan dalam perilaku positif selama proses pembelajaran. Selain itu, guru melaporkan peningkatan dalam keterlibatan dan partisipasi siswa, serta suasana kelas yang lebih kondusif dan harmonis. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar guru di sekolah dasar mengadopsi strategi pengelolaan kelas yang terstruktur dan konsisten untuk meningkatkan kedisiplinan siswa. Pelatihan bagi guru mengenai manajemen kelas yang efektif juga dianjurkan untuk memastikan keberhasilan implementasi strategi tersebut. Dengan demikian, diharapkan kedisiplinan siswa dapat ditingkatkan, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih baik, dan mendukung perkembangan akademik serta karakter siswa secara menyeluruh
