Abstract

Effective teaching strategies are critical in enhancing students’ attitudes toward chemistry and formal reasoning abilities, particularly for complex topics like acids and bases. Case-based learning has emerged as a promising alternative to traditional scientific learning methods. This study aims to compare the differences in attitudes toward chemistry and formal reasoning skills between students exposed to case-based learning and those undergoing scientific learning on acids and bases. A quasi-experimental design with a posttest-only control group was applied to 122 student of 11th grade science students in Yogyakarta, selected using simple random sampling. Data were collected through case-based essay questions and attitude questionnaires. Multivariate analysis (Hotelling’s Trace) assessed the differences between groups. The analysis revealed a significant difference (p = 0.000 < 0.05) in attitudes and formal reasoning skills between the two groups. Students in the case-based learning group demonstrated significantly better attitudes toward chemistry compared to those in the scientific learning group. These findings highlight the potential of case-based learning to enhance students’ engagement and reasoning skills in chemistry. By integrating case-based approaches into acid-base learning, teachers can adopt alternative methods to improve student outcomes. This study underscores the importance of diversifying teaching strategies to address the challenges of complex scientific topics effectively.

Abstract

Data pribadi merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam kehidupan seorang manusia baik sebagai individu (hak privasi) maupun dalam kedudukannya sebagai warga negara (hak warga negara) perlu mendapat perlindungan hukum yakni melalui penerapan sistem hukum pidana. Pentingnya penerapan sistem hukum pidana dalam hal ini, mengingat terdapat berbagai macam kasus yang berkenaan dengan penyalahgunaan data pribadi seorang warga negara dalam berbagai aspek kehidupan sosial, berbangsa dan bernegara baik dilakukan secara individu, perusahaan (korporasi) maupun oleh pihak-pihak yang diberikan kewenangan untuk mengumpulkan, memporoses hingga sampai penyebarluasan data pribadi secara melawan hukum, baik dalam kedudukannya sebagai subjek data pribadi, pengendali data pribadi dan prosesor data pribadi. Tujuan peneltian ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan sistem hukum pidana, terhadap penyalahgunaan data pribadi, khususnya menyangkut sistem pemidanaan yang diatur dalam UU Perlindungan Data Pribadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa, walaupun telah ada pengaturan hukum khusus yang mengatur tentang Perlindungan Data Pribadi, yakni Undang-Undang RI Nomor: 27 Tahun 2022 Tentang Perlindungan Data Pribadi. Namun dalam konstek penerapan hukum pidana belum dapat diterapkan sesuai dengan pengaturan Pasal 65 sampai dengan Pasal 73 yang mengatur tentang larangan penyalahgugunaan data pribadi dan pengaturan tentang ketentuan pidana yang dilakukan baik oleh orang pribadi, badan hukum (korporasi) di Indonesia. Faktor-faktor penyebabnya adalah pertama, formulasi kebijakan hukum oleh pembentuk undang-undang lebih mengedepankan sanksi administratif; kedua, penyelesaian masalah/sengketa dapat dilakukan diluar sistem peradilan (alternative dispute resolution). Ketiga, penegakan hukum pidana dan/atau pemidanaan merupakan upaya hukum terakhir (the lass resource), dan keempat, merupakan salah satu faktor yang paling mempengaruhi adalah belum terbentuknya Lembaga Perlindungan Data Pribadi sebagaimana dimaksud dalam ketentuan Pasal 58 UU Perlindungan Data Pribadi.
