Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) learning model with the discussion method in the experimental class compared to the Inquiry-Based Learning (IBL) combined with the lecture method in the control class in improving student learning outcomes in Economics. The method used was a quasi-experiment with a pre-test and post-test design, involving 30 grade X students in each group. The results showed that the application of PjBL with discussion provided a more significant increase in student learning outcomes compared to the IBL model with lectures. The PjBL model encourages students to be active, creative, and collaborative in learning, while the lecture method in IBL is more passive. In conclusion, the PjBL model with discussion is recommended to improve the quality of learning, in accordance with the Merdeka Curriculum approach which emphasizes interactive and contextual learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that facilitate the cultural adaptation of out-of-town postgraduate students in terms of social and academic interactions at Makassar State University. Out-of-town students often face various challenges, such as cultural differences, more complex learning systems, and limitations in building social networks. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that social support from peers, lecturers, and the campus community are the main factors that help students adjust to a new environment. Intercultural communication skills, participation in student organizations, and the use of technology, especially social media and online discussion groups, also contribute to accelerating the process of student adaptation. The main strategies implemented by students in adapting include building academic independence, developing communication skills, and utilizing digital resources to support the learning process and social interactions.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and test the practicality of interactive learning multimedia based on Smart Apps Creator (SAC) in supporting students' understanding of science learning in class VIII MTs Sinoa, especially on vibration, wave, and light materials. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. At the validation stage, the results from material experts and media experts showed that the developed learning multimedia was very valid with a material validity level of 95.8% and a media validity of 100%. This shows that the content and design of the learning media are very much in accordance with the standards needed to improve student understanding. This validation provides confidence that the material presented in the SAC application has met the eligibility criteria for use in the science learning process. Furthermore, at the practicality testing stage, the responses of educators and students to this learning multimedia showed very positive results. The response of educators to the practicality of this media reached 95.4%, while the response of students was 90.5%. This indicates that both educators and students feel that this media is very practical to use in learning, so that it can increase student interaction and involvement during the learning process. The implementation of media in learning resulted in higher enthusiasm among students, and the evaluation results showed a significant increase in student understanding. Thus, the use of interactive learning multimedia based on SAC has proven to be an effective alternative innovative media in improving student understanding at MTs Sinoa.
