Abstract

Background: The iceberg phenomenon in cases of sexual harassment occurred in Banyuwangi. Anti-sexual harassment education for children increases understanding that has a positive impact, such as good behavior that is carried into adulthood, free from sexual deviations, and can contribute to solving sexual problems in the future. This community service aims to differentiate the alert scout members of SDN 1 Mojopangung in understanding anti-sexual harassment with a holistic nursing approach. Method: The method used in this community service is game-based learning (GBL)—empowered participants in cub scouts, namely grade 4 and 5 students at SDN 1 Mojopangung. There are 15 class 4 students and 15 class 5 students. The total number of participants empowered in this community service is 30 students. Result: Based on the pre-test results, most students’ understanding of sexual harassment is poor (60%). Anti-bullying snakes and ladders training participants were given material on preventing sexual harassment through a holistic nursing approach involving physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects. Most students had a good understanding (90%) after being given material and training in understanding anti-sexual harassment using the anti-sexual harassment snakes and ladders board. Conclusion: Approach with snake and ladder games that contain the words anti-sexual harassment and acts of sexual harassment. It is easy for 4th and 5th-grade elementary school students to adapt and understand.

Abstract

Infeksi saluran pernapasan akut (ISPA) berhubungan dengan patogen, penyebabnya faktor pejamu dan  faktor lingkungan. Faktor lingkungan kerja yang berisiko terjadinya ISPA adalah pekerja pabrik kerupuk. Penggunaan bahan baku dan proses pembuatan kerupuk tersebut pekerja pabrik kerupuk terapapar partikel tepung yang berada di dalam ruangan sehingga pekerja yang beresiko terjadinya ISPA. Paparan tepung yang menjadi partikel kecil yang ada di ruangan pabrik rentan terhirup serta terakumulasi partikel tersebut kedalam paru-paru sehingga mempercepat timbulnya ISPA. Tujuan dilakukan pengabdian kepada masyarakat pada pekerja Pabrik Kerupuk adalah pemberian edukasi untuk mencegah ISPA dengan memberikan edukasi kesehatan menggunakan masker. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah penyuluhan edukasi kesehatan. Kegiatan dilakukan pada 8 Desember 2022 yang diikuti oleh 25 pekerja pabrik krupuk UD. Andalas. Hasil yang didapatkan dalam pengabdian masyarakat ini setelah dilakukan edukasi penggunaan masker untuk mencegah penyakit ISPA yaitu 19 (76%) pekerja pabrik kerupuk memiliki pengetahuan baik terkait penyakit ISPA dan cara menggunakan masker yang benar untuk mencegah penyakit ISPA. Edukasi pendidikan disertai dengan demontrasi untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan memberikan stimulus untuk meningkatkan pemahaman partisipan secara langsung.

Abstract

Background: COVID-19 is a new virus that was discovered at the end of December 2019 and has marked a global pandemic around the world. Not only has a high-risk infection, nuthe most contact with COVID-19 patients are also at risk of experiencing physical and emotional stress. Anxiety, nurses' fear about the risk of contracting the COVID-19 virus can lead to unprofessional attitudes and behavior of nurses in providing holistic nursing care to the patients. This study aimed to explore the experience of nurses in providing holistic nursing care to COVID-19 patients  Methods: This research used phenomenological qualitative research. Data collection was done by in-depth interview. The participants in this study were 7 nurses who served in the isolation room of Blambangan Hospital, Banyuwangi. Purposive sampling method was used to select participants according to the inclusion criteria. Descriptions of nurses experiences were analyzed using the Colaizzi approach. Results: The study result revealed 6 themes; changes in the emotional status of nurses while caring for COVID-19, social stigma against COVID-19 nurses, support during caring for COVID-19 patients, expectations during caring for COVID-19 challenges during caring for COVID-19 patientsand fulfillment holistic nursing carefor COVID-19 patients. Conclusion: The nurses experience in treating COVID-19 patients showed that when they ware caring for patients, they have to go through ups and downs. This research was expected to improve nursing services, prepare nurses to adapt to the growing pandemic, and as a reference for further research related to the experience of nurses in treating COVID-19 patients.
