Abstract

The high unemployment rate in Indonesia is partly due to limited access to education. The Package C equivalency program at PKBM Alam Rumah Matahari offers a non-formal education solution that is an alternative for people who have not completed formal education and also prepares graduates for the world of work. This study analyzes the management of the Package C curriculum at PKBM Alam Rumah Matahari Sukodono Sidoarjo in preparing graduates for the world of work. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with observation, interview, and documentation data collection techniques. The data is then analyzed using Milles and Huberman's analysis techniques, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions to obtain valid data. The results of the study show that curriculum management includes planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating which are adjusted to the needs of students and the world of work. Government funding support, infrastructure, and implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum are the main supporting factors. However, challenges such as low student attendance and public views on PKBM need to be overcome. The impact of this curriculum can be seen from its graduates who are able to become entrepreneurs or work in the government sector. Optimization of curriculum management and increasing public awareness need to be strengthened so that Package C graduates are better prepared to compete in the world of work and contribute to reducing unemployment.

Abstract

This research aims to utilize the existing assets at Phatna Witya School, especially the human resource assets, to solve the plastic waste challenges the school faces. Using the ABCD (Asset- Based Community Development) method, the research focused on an asset-based approach to develop environmental awareness among students and the school community. One activity was to recycle used plastic bottles into creative decorations for the iron railing in front of the classroom. This project is not only a tangible example of the reutilization of plastic waste, but also serves as a motivation for the entire school community to be more sensitive to the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability. The results showed that this activity effectively increased students' environmental awareness and encouraged them to actively contribute to creating a clean and environmentally friendly school environment

Abstract

This research aims to track the evolution of thought and religious movements in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) within the era of globalization. The approach employed in this study is literature review. The findings from this research indicate that radicalism and liberalism within a pesantren are greatly influenced by its leaders, whether they are the owners, kyai (religious leaders), or senior students (santri). If the leaders of a pesantren tend towards radical views, then the pesantren and its students are likely to also hold radical perspectives. Conversely, if the leaders maintain moderate attitudes, the pesantren and its students are inclined towards moderation, and in certain situations and times, may even lean towards liberalism. In the context of globalization, pesantren in Indonesia are no longer entirely dominated by traditional or fundamental-radical groups. New pesantrens established by other Islamic groups have altered the landscape of pesantren, each with its unique identity. This illustrates changes in the face and mindset of pesantren, which have become increasingly diverse over time due to the influence of globalization.
