Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has introduced significant behavioral changes driven by adopting health protocols known as the 5M measures—mask-wearing, handwashing, maintaining physical distance, limiting mobility, and avoiding crowds. This study evaluates the implementation of the 5M health protocols in Trenggalek and Bendungan Districts, representing urban and rural areas, respectively. Utilizing the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model, modified with Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) constructs, this research examines community awareness and adherence to 5M protocols. A survey involving 758 respondents from both districts was conducted during the pandemic to assess factors influencing compliance. The findings highlight that social influence through counseling, advertisements, and posters plays a pivotal role in shaping behavioral intentions related to protocol adherence. Furthermore, these intentions directly influence actual behavior, reinforcing sustained compliance with the 5M measures. Notably, urban and rural contexts demonstrated similar patterns, underscoring the universal impact of social influence regardless of geographic setting. This study concludes that strengthening community engagement and targeted social campaigns can enhance public health resilience and preparedness for future pandemics by fostering sustainable health-conscious behavior.

Abstract

PT X is an industry engaged in the production of snacks. The processes and activities in the industry produce by-products, namely hazardous and toxic waste. All waste is stored in temporary storage, but based on observations, the extant temporary storage does not meet the government's requirements. Accordingly, PT X redesigned a temporary storage area following government requirements. This study aims to identify a temporary storage location that complies with government regulations for PT X. Recording the types, characteristics, and quantities produced by PT X, followed by existing observation, is followed by the calculation of facility needs according to SNI and individual calculations. This research analysis provides property and layout recommendations to enhance the condition of PT X's temporary storage for hazardous and toxic refuse.

Abstract

Every country has water pollution and there are various ways to assess it, including physicochemical and biological parameters. This study examined river water quality utilizing macroinvertebrates as pollution indicators. Biological Monitoring Working Party Average Score Per Taxon is calculated. Sediment sampling was conducted using a Van Veen Grab sampler to evaluate water quality using biological indicators.  Furthermore, physicochemical parameter has been conducted in the same sites with the sediment samples site for determining water quality associated with macroinvertebrates. This study contains 3 stations A, B, and C with 3 sampling points. The area had 3 taxas of 8 macroinvertebrate families: Pachychidae, Viviparidae, Sphaeriidae, Piscicolidae, Neritidae, Chironomidae, Planorbidae, and Mollanidae. Due to the study's location in the river estuary, where pachychidae reside on the coast, they are the most common macroinvertebrates. Viviparidae inhabit waters of rivers. Water contamination scores are calculated using the Biological Monitoring Working Party Average Score Per Taxon (BMWP-ASPT) score. BMWP-ASPT scores from all stations range from 3.67 to 5.33, macroinvertebrate analysis with BMWP-ASPT method points A1, A2, A3, B1, B2, B3, and C1 include moderately and heavily polluted, and almost all physicochemical parameters have a correlation with BMWP-ASPT, except for PO4, which does not meet the statistical analysis limit.
