Abstract

Leprosy is an infectious disease that can affect the skin, peripheral nerves and other organs in the human body. Leprosy is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium leprae, which is also known as leprae. Even though leprosy has a long history, this disease is still a global health problem, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. The aim of this research is as a health promotion tool to provide information and education about leprosy by providing tertiary prevention efforts through social media with the Instagram account @komkes.ikmb22. The research method used was content analysis of health promotion media. This research shows that media in the form of posters regarding tertiary prevention of leprosy succeeded in attracting the attention of the public or viewers with positive interactions, namely by giving 61 likes and 2 comments. It can be concluded that health promotion through social media, especially Instagram, can be an effective strategy to increase public understanding about leprosy and reduce social stigma. Increasing knowledge regarding tertiary prevention of leprosy can change people's quality of life for the better.

Abstract

Indonesia has a high potential for disasters, both natural and non-natural, such as landslides, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis and erupting mountains. A major factor that causes disasters other than natural conditions is the lack of public knowledge about disasters. The role of communities and communities in disaster education is an essential aspect of shaping the socialization and skills needed in dealing with disaster threats. Community roles in disaster education include various aspects, such as community empowerment, skill and insight development, and development of a disaster risk-oriented curriculum design. Community Based Disaster Management (CBDM) is an effort that requires a series of efforts in interpreting their own disaster threats and risks, prioritizing disaster risk reduction, reducing, monitoring and evaluating their own performance in disaster reduction efforts. Community-based disaster helps communities organize themselves to be independent in facing disasters both pre-disaster, when a disaster occurs, and post-disaster. The community challenge in fostering community awareness of disaster education is to increase community awareness and ability to deal with disasters with the aim of minimizing or mitigating the risks or impacts caused by disasters. Some efforts that can be made to help communities become more prepared and alert in the face of disasters are as follows education and training, disaster mitigation, development of disaster response communities, disaster preparedness school education, disaster aware community, and disaster preparedness cadet program (Tagana).

Abstract

The tradition of smoking mothers and babies remains a cultural practice in Indonesia. The tradition of smoking is a 40-day custom of heating or smoking newborn babies with their mothers using smoke from burning coals. This practice is carried out with the hope that the baby will grow stronger and accelerate the mother's postnatal recovery. The smoking tradition varies greatly depending on the culture in each region, such as the Tatobi, Marapi, Mandadang, Bedaring, and Sei traditions. The objective of this literature study is to analyze the relationship between the implementation of the tradition of smoking mothers and babies in Indonesia and the health of both mother and baby. This study was conducted through a literature review method using eight journal articles obtained from the Google Scholar database published between 2013 and 2022. The study findings indicate that over time, smoking traditions are considered irrelevant to health because smoking on mothers and babies can increase the risk of respiratory disorders and lung function impairment, such as ARI. Minister of Health Regulation number 1077/MENKES/PER/V/2011 states that indoor air pollution that exceeds requirements can be caused by incomplete combustion pollutants produced from biomass fuels.
