Abstract

SD Negeri 32 Kota Bengkulu menghadapi tantangan dalam hal fasilitas literasi yang terbatas, seperti koleksi buku yang kurang, pengelolaan perpustakaan yang tidak optimal, dan kurangnya ruang baca yang nyaman untuk siswa. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa Kampus Mengajar Angkatan 7 bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat baca dan kemampuan literasi siswa melalui pendekatan berbasis media literasi yang inovatif. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kolaboratif. Dalam tahapan perencanaan, dilakukan observasi terhadap kondisi fasilitas literasi di sekolah mitra, yang meliputi perpustakaan, pohon literasi, majalah dinding, dan pojok baca. Selanjutnya, kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui penataan ulang perpustakaan, pemasangan media pohon literasi, pembuatan dan pemasangan majalah dinding kreatif, serta pengaturan pojok baca di berbagai lokasi strategis di sekolah. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan literasi siswa, yang tercermin dari kenaikan rata-rata kemampuan literasi siswa dari 67,9% pada tes awal menjadi 82,3% pada tes akhir. Peningkatan ini menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian yang dilakukan berhasil meningkatkan minat dan kemampuan literasi siswa. Dengan demikian, program ini memberikan kontribusi yang positif terhadap pengembangan literasi di SD Negeri 32 Kota Bengkulu dan dapat dijadikan model untuk kegiatan pengabdian serupa di sekolah-sekolah lain.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the collaboration of intercultural edupreneurs’ project-based learning (PjBL) of English for young learners in Bengkulu province. This descriptive qualitative study used observation, interview, and documentation to collect the primary data. The research samples involved five private English courses for young learners as a collaboration of intercultural edupreneurs’ project-based learning (PjBL) that was created by students of the student exchange (PMM) program and English students of Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu. They were B 3nglish, Artery_ECourse, BVJE_Course, OBFiG’s_E Course, and BC.Equal Courses. The research results revealed that the collaboration of intercultural edupreneurs’ project-based learning (PjBL) of English for young learners in Bengkulu province was realized in four dimensions: planning and group decision-making; communicating about thinking; contributing resources, ideas, and efforts; and monitoring processes. In concluding the research, the collaboration of intercultural edupreneurs’ project-based learning (PjBL) of English for young learners is highly facilitated through the project-based learning method, making it an effective approach.
