Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the influence of boycott and brand image on the purchase decision of KFC products, with religiosity as a moderation variable in the Muslim community in North Sumatra. The survey was conducted on 100 Muslim respondents according to the research criteria. The analysis used Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA) with SPSS version 27. The results showed that: First, boycotts had a negative and significant effect on purchasing decisions, suggesting that the stronger the motivation of consumers to boycott, the lower their tendency to buy KFC products. Second, brand image also has a significant effect, where a positive brand image can increase consumers' intentions and decisions to make purchases. Third, simultaneously, these two variables (boycott and brand image) together contribute significantly to purchasing decisions, which means that consumers' decisions in purchasing KFC products are influenced by a combination of the two. Fourth, religiosity has been shown to moderate the relationship between boycott and brand image on purchasing decisions. In consumers with high levels of religiosity, the influence of boycotts becomes stronger in lowering purchasing decisions, while the influence of brand image becomes greater in driving purchases. This is evident from the regression equation Y = α + β1X1 + β2X2 + β3X3 + β4Z + β5X1Z + β5X2Z + β5X3Z + e. Overall, a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.674 indicates that 67.4% of the variation in purchasing decisions can be explained by a combination of boycotts, halal labels, and brand imagery, while the remaining 32.6% the rest is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

Ihtikār refers to the economic practice of hoarding goods with the intention of controlling supply and manipulating prices to obtain excessive profits. This practice may lead to market distortion, artificial scarcity, and harm to consumers as well as small-scale business actors. This article aims to analyze the concept of ihtikār from the perspective of Islamic economics and to examine its implications for market justice and regulation within the Indonesian economic system. This study employs a qualitative approach using normative–conceptual analysis through a review of classical and contemporary Islamic economic literature, as well as Indonesian regulations related to competition law and consumer protection. The findings indicate that ihtikār is strictly prohibited in Islamic economics as it contradicts the principles of justice (‘adl), public welfare (maṣlaḥah), and market equilibrium. In the Indonesian context, although regulations prohibiting monopolistic practices and unfair competition have been established, practices resembling ihtikār may still occur due to weaknesses in supervision and law enforcement. Therefore, integrating Islamic economic values into the national regulatory framework is essential to strengthen market justice and maintain economic stability. This study is expected to contribute to the development of Islamic economic literature and to serve as a reference for formulating more equitable and welfare-oriented economic policies.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of crowdfunding, impact investing, zakat, and waqf as alternative financing in supporting sustainable development in Indonesia. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach based on secondary data from literature and empirical reports. The results show that crowdfunding mobilizes community funds for environmental projects such as mangrove conservation in Kalimantan, significantly reducing carbon emissions. Impact investing supports strategic sectors like Islamic fintech and affordable housing, creating both social and financial impact. Zakat contributes to improved welfare through skills training and healthcare services, while waqf supports the development of sustainable social infrastructure. However, the management of zakat and waqf faces challenges in transparency and public participation. This study bridges the literature gap with empirical evidence highlighting the effectiveness of alternative financing in sustainable development. The conclusion emphasizes the need for a strategic integration of alternative financing to accelerate the achievement of sustainable development goals in an inclusive manner.
