Abstract

Dayah Terpadu Modern Teungku Chik Pante Kulu is an Islamic educational institution founded by the Teungku Chiek Pante Kulu Foundation in 2020 and started its activities in 2021. This institution is dominated by students from underprivileged families and orphans. At that time, education costs, such as tuition fees and student food costs, came from Amil Zakat, waqaf, infaq, shadaqah, as well as support from foster parents. This community service activity aims to increase students' knowledge and entrepreneurial skills through cultivating catfish in buckets, so that they are better prepared to face a better and more dignified future. The methods used in this program include socialization, delivery of material, and training which includes theoretical aspects and direct practice in the field. The results of this service show that the students' knowledge and practical skills have increased in making fish ponds from buckets, how to care for fish, providing proper food, maintaining water quality, and building the students' entrepreneurial spirit. The participants' participation in the training was very enthusiastic, providing a positive impact for the students in utilizing fish cultivation in limited areas.

Abstract

Sustainable forest management plays a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance and improving community welfare, particularly within social forestry areas. This community service program was conducted in Pudeng Village, Aceh Besar District, an area under the Community Forest (HKm) permit managed by the Tuah Sejati (KTH). The program aimed to enhance community knowledge regarding social forestry regulations, sustainable forest management, and community-based ecotourism. Evaluation was carried out using a pre-test and post-test instrument consisting of eight multiple-choice questions, completed by 18 participants. The results indicate an increase in the average understanding level from 59.85% in the pre-test to 68.88% in the post-test, with the highest improvement observed in ecotourism-related topics (+23.53%) and ecotourism principles (+17.65%). Conversely, a significant decline was noted in the understanding of social forestry regulations (–19.93%). These findings highlight the need to simplify the delivery of regulatory materials to improve comprehension. Overall, the program was effective in enhancing participants’ practical knowledge related to forest management and ecotourism development.
