Abstract

Abstract

South Aceh Regency has abundant mine products, one of which is marble. Polytechnic of South Aceh Particularly UPT Marmer Industrial Engineering Study Program performs processing of marble in the form of marble processed into the form of crafts, such as tables, chairs, glasses, ashtrays, and so on, and spread in various areas that have been distributed, but the marketing of marble production not all is known by the community, so it is necessary to find a solution to be able to mapping the location of marble marketing in order to increase production output to be distributed to the consumer of various regions. This research is expected to produce Geographic Information System for mapping of marketing location of marble production of Polytechnic of South Aceh so that society can know marble marketing center in Aceh region.

Abstract

The potential of non-metallic natural resources in South Aceh Regency is very abundant, one of which is granite rock. Granite rock is igneous rock that can be used for a variety of household and industrial products. This rock has certain characteristics based on its constituent mineral structure. South Aceh granite rocks are scattered in two different locations namely Samadua District and Sawang District. This research was conducted to determine the constituent mineral phase using the X-Ray Diffraction method. The results of testing and analysis showed that granite rock samples taken from Lhok pawoh village contained Quartz (SiO2) as the dominant phase, while the minor phase was Aluminum oxide (Al2O3). While the granite rock samples taken from Ujung Karang Village have Quartz (Sio2) as the dominant phase, while the minor phase is the dominant mineral phase contained in the dominant phase, namely Aluminum oxide (Al2O3). From the two samples above the high diffraction pattern is owned by rock samples from Ujung Karang Village.

Abstract

The potential of non-metallic mineral resources in South Aceh is very diverse, such as one of the granite rocks located in Lhok Pawoh village, Sawang subdistrict. Granite rocks have a distinctive characteristic based on its constituent minerals. The purpose of this research is to obtain information about the constituent minerals in the granite rocks of Lhok Pawoh village. The research method uses X-ray Fluorescence (XRF) technique, then the observation of surface morphology is done by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The XRF test results show that there are 14 phases of mineral identified as the constituent mineral phase, where the very dominant SiO2 mineral reaches 67.9%, then the mineral phase of Al2O3 by 15%, and the third Fe2O3 of 6.03%, and is followed by the other minor phase of minerals. As for the results of the morphological observation, the dominant element appears in several factors, namely Si, O, and Al. From the two testing and analysis methods can be concluded that the granite stone of the village Lhok Pawoh is dominated by silica elements, which can visually be seen in white.Copyright © 2018 Politeknik Aceh Selatan.

Abstract

A study on mineral sand has been carried out in Samadua District, South Aceh Regency. This study aims to determine the mineral phase and the shape of the surface morphology of the mineral sand. The methods used in this research are XRD and SEM-EDX methods. The XRD analysis results obtained that the SiO2 mineral phase was the highest peak, followed by other mineral phases. While the SEM-EDX test results, visually the surface morphology of the sample is clear that it is dominated by white with Si elements as large as 17.62 wt%, Ca elements as large as 04.30 wt%, and K elements as rough as 02.42 wt%. Based on these results it can be concluded that the phase The dominant constituent minerals in mineral sand are the element SiO2 (Silica).

Abstract

Sustainable forest management plays a crucial role in maintaining ecosystem balance and improving community welfare, particularly within social forestry areas. This community service program was conducted in Pudeng Village, Aceh Besar District, an area under the Community Forest (HKm) permit managed by the Tuah Sejati (KTH). The program aimed to enhance community knowledge regarding social forestry regulations, sustainable forest management, and community-based ecotourism. Evaluation was carried out using a pre-test and post-test instrument consisting of eight multiple-choice questions, completed by 18 participants. The results indicate an increase in the average understanding level from 59.85% in the pre-test to 68.88% in the post-test, with the highest improvement observed in ecotourism-related topics (+23.53%) and ecotourism principles (+17.65%). Conversely, a significant decline was noted in the understanding of social forestry regulations (–19.93%). These findings highlight the need to simplify the delivery of regulatory materials to improve comprehension. Overall, the program was effective in enhancing participants’ practical knowledge related to forest management and ecotourism development.
