Abstract

Background: In the labor process, the cervix opens and thins, and the head descends through the birth canal, uterine contractions occur with regular frequency and intensity that cause pain. Birth ball helps mothers in the first stage of labor, which aims to help the progress of labor that can be used in various positions, the use of birth ball in labor is useful in reducing pain and is a comfortable aid for laboring mothers.. Objective: Implementing the use of a birth ball can reduce the pain felt by mothers in the first stage of labor. Method: The method of writing this EBCR is by searching for evidence through data based on Pubmed and Google Scholar with publication years 2016-2023, 3 articles were obtained to be reviewed critically. Results: After an evaluation was carried out before and after the intervention using a birth ball, the mother in labor was able to reduce labor pain in the first stage. Conclusion: The use of a birth ball as a non-pharmacological intervention can be an alternative to reduce pain in mothers in the first stage of labor.

Abstract

Introduction: Sexual violence against children remains a serious issue in Indonesia, with increasing cases each year due to limited sexual literacy and awareness among children. This community service program aimed to enhance children’s knowledge and self –awareness in preventing sexual violence through innovative educational approach using the Sexual Education Maps Games (SEMAPS) based on a local-to-digital model. Methods: This program was implemented using a participatory and educational approach at a community-based educational institution involving 32 children aged 6-12 years and 6 educators. The intervention combined empowerment, training, and technological mentoring using SEMAPS as a game-based learning tool. Data were collected through pre-and post-tests using structured questionnaires to measure children’s knowledge. Statistical analysis was conducted using paired sample t-test with a significance level of p<0.05. Results: A significant improvement in children’s understanding after the intervention. The average pre-test score was 7.38 (SD= 1.755) and increased to 8.81 (SD = 0.535) in the post-test,, with a mean difference of 1.43 points (p = 0.000). The result indicate that the use of interactive game-based education effectively inched children’s awareness and comprehension of safe touch, unsafe touch, and appropriate reporting behavior. Additionally, empowerment can lead the teacher’s capacity to deliver sexual education. Conclusion: By integrating cultural values and digital learning technology, this innovation supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 2 and 5, promoting inclusive, safe, and quality education. The SEMAPS model can serve as a replicable framework for other institutions to develop interactive, culturally relevant, and sustainable sexual education programs.

Abstract

Mahasiswa mempunyai peran strategis sebagai agent of change. Kuliah kerja nyata (KKN) adalah salah satu wujud pengabdian mahasiswa perguruan tinggi kepada masyarakat melalui pemberian bantuan pemberdayaan, pelatihan, penyuluhan, pembimbingan, pendampingan, dan untuk menyadarkan potensi yang dimiliki serta membantu meningkatkan kualitas hidup dan pembangunan. Mahasiswa akan mendapatkan kemampuan generatif berupa life skills (keterampilan hidup). Observasi ini dilakukan dengan metode : (1) wawancara, (2) berpartisipasi ke lapangan secara langsung, dan (3) dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil observasi maka ditentukan program kerja KKN kelompok divisi sosial yang akan dilaksanakan meliputi program : (1) perlombaan HUT RI, (2) pengajian, (3) jumsih (Jum'at bersih), (4) pensi (Pentas Seni), dan (5) senam. Secara keseluruhan program kerja terlaksana sesuai dengan perencanaan. Keberhasilan dilihat dari jumlah partisipasi dan dukungan masyarakat RW 07 Desa Sindulang dalam semua kegiatan. Semua kegiatan berjalan dengan hasil yang tidak mengecewakan, hal ini terbukti dari opini masyarakat secara umum. Dengan demikian, setelah kegiatan sosial berakhir diharapkan masyarakat dapat terus mengembangkan segala potensi yang ada.
