Abstract

This study explores the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in shaping the moral and ethical character of students at SMK Jamiah Al-Aziziyah from a sociological perspective. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews with PAI teachers and students, observations, and document analysis. The findings show that PAI significantly contributes to character formation by fostering values such as honesty, discipline, responsibility, and politeness. These values are instilled through formal lessons and internalized through social interactions at school, including peer communication, collaboration in religious activities, and role modeling by teachers. Despite these positive outcomes, challenges such as negative social media influences and limited parental engagement persist. The study highlights the need for a collaborative framework involving schools, families, and communities to address external challenges and sustain moral development. It also calls for future research to integrate family and community roles more effectively into character education initiatives

Abstract

Kawasan kumuh merupakan salah satu permasalah yang harus diatasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyusun strategi penanganan permukiman kumuh di Kelurahan Pontap Kecamatan Wara Timur Kota Palopo agar tercipta permukiman yang bersih dan sehat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil Analisis SWOT nilai untuk faktor internal yaitu 0,17 sedangkan nilai untuk faktor eksternal yaitu 0,18. Dari hasil kuadran SWOT menghasilkan model strategi untuk penanganan Kawasan permukiman kumuh yaitu Memanfaatkan gotong royong sebagai motor pembangunan salah satunya “Satu gang satu taman kecil dengan swadaya warga”. Mendorong investasi di kawasan strategis dengan menawarkan pelatihan digital untuk pelaku UMKM. Pemanfaatan cakupan pelayanan jalan lingkungan yang memadai sebagai dasar untuk mempercepat pelaksanaan program pemerintah dalam penanganan kawasan kumuh. Slum areas are one of the problems that must be addressed.This study aims to develop a strategy for handling slum settlements in Pontap Village, Wara Timur District, Palopo City in order to create clean and healthy settlements. The research method used in this study is quantitative research. Based on the results of the SWOT analysis, the value for internal factors is 0.17 while the value for external factors is 0.18. From the results of the SWOT quadrant, a strategic model for handling slum areas is produced, namely Utilizing mutual cooperation as a motor of development, one of which is "One alley, one small park with community self-help". Encouraging investment in strategic areas by offering digital training for MSMEs. Utilizing adequate environmental road service coverage is part of the basis for accelerating the implementation of government programs in handling slum areas.
