Abstract

Safety Procedure is a formal written safety procedure and contains procedures, identification and obligations to carry it out while working. Not optimal due to lack of understanding of Safety Procedures that pose a risk of work accidents. This study aims to determine the causes and impacts of the non-optimal implementation of Safety Procedures and efforts so that the Safety Procedure can run optimally so as to prevent work accidents in the engine room. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive pattern. Research data sources are obtained from primary and secondary data. Data collection techniques through observation, literature study, interviews and documentation during the time researchers carried out marine practices on the MT ship. Serang Jaya. The data analysis techniques used are by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions or verifying data which is also supported by fishbone analysis. Testing the validity of data using the tringulation method. The results stated that the factors of not optimal Safety Procedure due to lack of crew understanding of Safety Procedure, and crew concern for safety as well as lack of supervision and coordination between crew and management are the reasons why Safety Procedure cannot run optimally. The impact of not optimal Safety Procedure is the high risk of work accidents, hampering ship operations, harming the ship or the parties concerned. Efforts that can be made to optimize this are by carrying out Safety meeting activities, Toolbox Meeting, Drill, installing Safety Signs. And always provide counseling related to Safety Procedure in the engine room.

Abstract

Auxiliary engines are a category of internal combustion engines in which air is compressed to a temperature sufficient to burn fuel sprayed into the combustion chamber. A faulty cooling system can cause Auxiliary engine No. 1 MV. Federal Kibune is not working optimally. The purpose of this study is to determine the causes and impacts caused and efforts made to overcome engine failure. This research uses qualitative descriptive research method with SHEL (Software, Hardware, Environment and Liveware) method research design. Data collection techniques through interviews and direct observation. The results of this study stated that the factors causing the failure of the cooling system were the non-implementation of appropriate maintenance of the cooling freshwater pump (high-temperature water) components, the availability of spare parts and incomplete instruction manual manuals, the wear of impeller and shaft threads, weakening construction, loss of impeller and shaft traction, uncirculated temperature, lack of fresh water treatment, lack of monitoring, and improper operation according to procedures. The impact is damage to the cooling fresh water pump, limited handling, overheating, damage to the impeller and shaft cooling fresh water pump, obstructed loading and unloading, increased temperature, changes in freshwater quality, limited problem detection, and improper operation according to procedures. Efforts are made to carry out the maintenance system (PMS) plan, conduct safety meetings, check parameters, replace impellers and shafts, gradually warm up and cool, check fresh water coolant, provide instructions to the engine crew, and provide training on engine crew operations.

Abstract

Main air compressor is an auxiliary tool for the ship's main engine that functions to produce compressed air. Compressed air is needed in ship machinery that supports the entire ship's operational system. Main air compressor has a vital role in the ship's motion process, therefore if there is a decrease in compression pressure which causes reduced productivity of compressed air produced by the main air compressor, of course, it will hamper the entire operational process on the ship. Factors causing the compression pressure in the main air compressor to decrease are leaks in the valve material, broken piston rings, and dirty air filters. This can occur due to negligence of maintenance on these components. The impact of the decrease in compression pressure on the main air compressor is the disruption of the entire ship's process because of the reduced supply of compressed air. Efforts that can be made to anticipate this can be done by doing routine cleaning of the valve spring with lapping techniques. Maintenance and checking of the main air compressor must be carried out in accordance with the SOP and manual book. If there is damage to the component and it is not suitable for use, it must be replaced immediately.

Abstract

Aktivitas dari masyarakat maupun industri pengolahan perikanan dan juga perhubungan laut seperti tumpahan dari minyak dapat menyebabkan terjadinya kerusakan lingkungan laut dan wilayah pesisir. Kegiatan masyarakat, secara langsung ataupun tidak langsung terhadap situasi yang menyebabkan dampak buruk sedemikian rupa seperti kerusakan terhadap keberlangsungan kehidupan laut sebagai akibatnya sangat berbahaya bagi kesehatan manusia dan juga gangguan terhadap aktivitas laut, seperti penangkapan ikan.Tujuan dari kegiatan Penyuluhan pencegahan penanggulangan pencemaran untuk masyarakat desa bajomulyo, berkecamatan Juwana, yang berada di kabupaten Pati, Jawa Tengah. Penyuluhan tersebut akan ditujukan untuk nelayan di desa Bajomulyo dan sekitarnya. Dengan adanya sebuah pengabdian kepada masyarakat, terjadi peningkatan terhadap pengetahuan kepada masyarakat dan memiliki standar pengetahuan mengenai pencegahan pencemaran lingkungan khususnya di Desa Bajomulyo dan sekitarnya. Masyarakat juga dapat lebih memahami bahaya yang di akibatkan dari pencemaran lingkungan. Kata kunci: Pengabdian , pencegahan dan penaggulangan pencemearan

Abstract

Waste oil or dirty oil is oil that comes from operational processes of machinery on board. The aim of this research is to find out what impacts are caused by optimizing the burning of waste oil in the operation of incinerator on ships in terms of marine pollution, as well as to find out efforts to optimize the burning of waste oil in incinerator aircraft on MT. PIS Polaris. The research method used by the author in this research is a qualitative method. Research data sources were obtained from primary data and secondary data. Data collection techniques use observation, literature study, documentation and interviews, data validity techniques use triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique used by researchers in this research is the Shell method (Software, Hardware, Environment and Liveware). The results of research on the impact of optimizing the burning of waste oil on incinerator are complying with international Marine Pollution regulations which regulate the prevention of pollution at sea, apart from that it also prevents pollution of the marine environment as a result of illegal disposal of waste oil and also the disposal of rubbish from ships that will endangering the life of ecosystems at sea level and ecosystems under the sea. Then it can also extend the life of the incinerator components by implementing PMS (Plan Maintenance System) and checking procedures in accordance with the instructions in the manual book. Then the research results from efforts to optimize the burning of waste oil in incinerator are by carrying out PMS (Plan Maintenance System) and regular maintenance routines as well as carrying out maintenance on each component of the incinerator and complying with operating procedures according to the instructions in the manual book, then selecting the appropriate waste elements. will be burned and the engine crew must understand the contents of the manual book which is used as a reference or guideline in dealing with any problems that occur at the incinerator. Waste oil atau minyak kotor merupakan limbah minyak yang berasal dari proses operasional permesinan yang ada di dalam kapal. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Untuk mengetahui dampak apa saja yang ditimbulkan dengan mengoptimalkan pembakaran waste oil pada pengoperasian pesawat incinerator di atas kapal dalam hal pencemaran laut, serta untuk mengetahui upaya optimalisasi pembakaran waste oil pada pesawat incinerator di kapal MT. PIS Polaris. Metode penelitian yang digunakan penulis pada penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif. Sumber data penelitian diperoleh dari data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, studi pustaka, dokumentasi, dan wawancara, teknik keabsahan data menggunakan teknik triangulasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan peneliti dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Shell (Software, Hardware, Environment, dan Liveware). Hasil penelitian dari dampak optimalisasi pembakaran waste oil pada pesawat incinerator yakni mematuhi regulasi international Marine Pollution yang mengatur tentang pencegahan pencemaran di laut, selain itu juga mencegah terjadinya pencemaran lingkungan laut akibat dari tindakan pembuangan waste oil secara illegal dan juga pembuangan sampah dari atas kapal yang akan membahayakan kehidupan ekosistem di permukaan laut, ekosistem yang ada di bawah laut. Kemudian juga dapat memperpanjang usia komponen incinerator karena menerapkan PMS (Plan Maintenance System) dan prosedur pengecekan sesuai dengan petunjuk yang ada pada manual book. Kemudian hasil penelitian dari upaya optimalisasi pembakaran waste oil pada pesawat incinerator yakni dengan cara melaksanakan PMS (Plan Maintenance System) dan routine maintenance secara teratur serta melakukan perawatan pada tiap komponen incinerator dan mematuhi prosedur pengoperasian sesuai petunjuk pada manual book, kemudian melakukan pemilihan unsur sampah yang akan dibakar dan engine crew harus memahami isi dari manual book yang digunakan sebagai acuan atau pedoman dalam menangani setiap masalah yang terjadi pada incinerator.

Abstract

Pelabuhan merupakan salah satu bagian penting dalam unsur penunjang kegiatan transportasi laut seperti tempat kapal sandar,bongkar muat barang dan naik turunya penumpang yang melakukan perjalanan menggunakan transportasi kapal. Dalam operasionalnya Pelabuhan memiliki infrastruktur penunjang kegiatan sehari hari Dimana kebanyakan dari infrastruktur tersebut terbuat dari logam seperti baja,tembaga dan alumunium.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui laju korosi pada berbagai logam (Baja,tembaga dan Alumunium) yang terkontaminasi dengan air laut di Pelabuhan semarang agar para pelaku usaha kemaritiman di Pelabuhan bisa merencanakan perawatan dan perbaikan alat alat yang menggunakan logam. Peneliti menggunakan metode perhitungan laju korosi instalasi kupon dengang standart ASTM D 2688-05. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pada semua logam mengalami laju korosi dengan nilai diatas 5 MPY, sehingga agar tidak mengalami kerusakan yang cepat perlu dilakukan perlindungan korosi logam Pelabuhan yang mudah adalah pengecatan.
