Abstract

This Sustainable agriculture is an important approach in facing global challenges such as soil degradation, climate change, and increasing food demand. This study aims to assess the benefits of implementing a good tillage system and using organic fertilizers in improving land productivity and the sustainability of agricultural ecosystems. Planned tillage involves soil and water conservation techniques that can minimize erosion and maintain soil fertility. Meanwhile, the use of organic fertilizers contributes to the improvement of soil structure, increased microorganism activity, and reduced dependence on synthetic chemical fertilizers. This study uses a qualitative method with data obtained from case studies in several agricultural areas that have adopted sustainable practices. The results show that the combination of good land management and the use of organic fertilizers not only increases agricultural yields, but also supports the sustainability of natural resources in the long run. This research is expected to contribute to the development of policies, training programs, and technical guidelines for farmers to realize a more environmentally friendly and efficient farming system.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of varying light intensity on photosynthesis efficiency in plant growth. Photosynthesis is a vital process for plants, relying on solar energy to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose and oxygen. The intensity of light received by plants significantly determines the efficiency of photosynthesis and plant growth. This research was conducted using a literature review method, analyzing various scientific sources to understand how light intensity affects the photosynthesis process. The results indicate that optimal light intensity enhances the rate of photosynthesis, while excessively low or high intensity can hinder plant growth. Other factors, such as light spectrum, light duration, and plant adaptation to specific light conditions, also influence photosynthesis efficiency.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of different planting distances on the growth and yield of banana plants in open fields. The research was conducted experimentally using a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four spacing treatments: 2 x 2 m, 2.5 x 2.5 m, 3 x 3 m, and 3.5 x 3.5 m, each repeated four times. Observed parameters included plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, number of bunches, bunch weight, and number of fruits per bunch. The results showed that planting distance significantly affected banana plant growth and yield. The 3 x 3 m spacing treatment produced the best vegetative growth and the highest yield compared to the other treatments. Therefore, a 3 x 3 m spacing is recommended for banana cultivation in open fields to achieve optimal results.
