Abstract

This study explores the entrepreneurship education model and its teaching strategies implemented at the Kebon Cinta Entrepreneurial Islamic Boarding School. The research is a type of field study using a qualitative approach with a naturalistic or interpretive paradigm. Data were collected from a natural setting as the primary source. Data analysis was conducted through techniques such as data reduction, coding, and categorization to identify key patterns in the findings. This process was followed by a category examination to gain a deeper understanding. The findings of this research are as follows: (1) The entrepreneurial values instilled at the Kebon Cinta Islamic Boarding School are worship-based entrepreneurial principles, where all economic activities are carried out with the intention of worshiping Allah SWT; (2) The entrepreneurship education process involves training students (santri) to manage economic institutions within the boarding school under the supervision and guidance of the kyai and the boarding school administrators.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the learning outcomes of Islamic Education before and after applying the Jigsaw cooperative learning method and to evaluate its impact on improving students' academic achievement in Islamic Education subjects. The research specifically investigates the influence of the Jigsaw learning approach on student achievement in an experimental study conducted in Grade XI at SMAN 3 Pandeglang. The study employed a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group and a control group. A quantitative research approach was used, utilizing a survey method. The sampling technique employed was simple random sampling, selecting 69 students as the sample based on the nonequivalent formula. Data were collected through test distribution. After implementing the Jigsaw approach, the findings indicate a significant improvement in students' academic achievement in Islamic Education and character-building subjects. The pretest mean score of the experimental group was 64.43, which increased to 69.35 in the posttest. Similarly, students' performance in the control group improved from a pretest score of 65.93 to a posttest score of 71.80. Hypothesis testing using the t-test revealed a t-value (t = 10.82) greater than the critical value (t = 2.03) at a 5% significance level, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (Ho) and acceptance of the alternative hypothesis (Ha). Thus, the Jigsaw cooperative learning approach impacts students' academic achievement. In contrast, conventional methods show no significant effect on the learning outcomes of Islamic Education and Character Building in Grade XI at SMAN 3 Pandeglang.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the Cooperative Learning model in increasing students' interest in Islamic Religious Education in grade 7 of State Junior High School 14 Cirebon. The background of this study is the low interest in learning due to the dominance of monotonous conventional learning methods. The research method uses a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one-shot case Study type design. The research sample of 35 students was selected through a simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques include observation, Likert scale questionnaires, and documentation. The validity and reliability of the instrument were tested using the SPSS application. Data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test, the coefficient of determination (R²), and the t-test. The study results indicate a powerful relationship between the application of the Cooperative Learning model and students' interest in learning, with a correlation value of 0.864 and an influence contribution of 74.6%. This study provides practical implications for teachers in increasing student participation and learning motivation through a collaborative and enjoyable learning approach.

Abstract

Purpose – This study addresses the persistent challenge of developing Arabic speaking proficiency (maharah kalām) among junior secondary students, who often lack confidence and fluency due to limited authentic practice. The purpose was to empirically evaluate the effectiveness of realia-based instruction as a practical pedagogical intervention to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world communication, arguing that tangible, context-rich materials significantly enhance oral skills. Design/methods/approach – A quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group design with pre-test and post-test measures was implemented. The study involved 55 seventh-grade students at an Indonesian state Islamic junior high school, with an experimental group (n=31) receiving realia-based instruction and a control group (n=24) receiving conventional instruction over a three-week period. Student speaking performance was quantitatively assessed using a standardized oral rubric before and after the intervention. Findings – The findings revealed a statistically significant and substantial improvement in the experimental group's speaking performance. The post-test mean score for the experimental group (M=50.32, SD=14.05) was significantly higher than that of the control group (M=29.17, SD=4.44). An independent samples t-test confirmed this advantage (t(53)=7.09,p<.001), indicating a large effect size (Hedges’ g=1.90), providing strong evidence that realia-based instruction is more effective than conventional methods. Research implications – The primary implication is pedagogical: integrating realia offers a practical, low-cost strategy for language teachers to create authentic communicative contexts, thereby enhancing student oral proficiency. However, the findings' generalizability is constrained by the study's single-site setting, non-randomized allocation of participants, and the short duration of the intervention. These limitations highlight the need for future research, such as multi-site randomized controlled trials, to validate these results across diverse contexts and assess long-term retention.
