The method used in preparing this article is the PRISMA method with database searches including Google Scholar, Digital Reference Garba, and Science Direct. There are 15 articles selected based on the criteria, namely published in 2018-2023, can be accessed in full text, articles in Indonesian and English, and are qualitative research using the keywords stigma, leprosy sufferers, and community. Abstract

Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death worldwide, and sudden cardiac arrest is a life-threatening emergency that requires immediate management through Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). The low survival rate of patients is often attributed to insufficient knowledge and preparedness among healthcare professionals in performing CPR. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between nurses’ level of knowledge and their readiness to perform CPR in the ICU of Grandmed Hospital, Lubuk Pakam. A quantitative method with a cross-sectional and correlational design was employed. The study population included all 19 ICU nurses, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire covering respondent characteristics, CPR knowledge based on American Heart Association (AHA) standards, and readiness to respond to emergency situations. Univariate analysis revealed that the majority of respondents were female (68.4%), aged 20–29 years (68.4%), held a professional nursing degree (63.2%), had 1–5 years of work experience (63.2%), and more than half had never attended CPR training (52.6%). Furthermore, 84.2% of nurses demonstrated good knowledge, and 78.9% were categorized as highly ready. The Spearman’s rho test indicated a strong and significant positive correlation between knowledge and readiness (r = 0.629; p = 0.004). In conclusion, the higher the nurses’ level of knowledge regarding CPR, the better their readiness to handle sudden cardiac arrest in the ICU.

Abstract

The integration of telemedicine and artificial intelligence (AI) into critical care has emerged as a revolutionary development in the healthcare sector, aiming to enhance patient care and outcomes. This research aims to explore the impact of these technologies on improving the quality of patient care in intensive care units (ICUs). A systematic review of recent studies published between 2018 and 2023 was conducted to analyze the role of telemedicine in improving access to healthcare and the application of AI in enhancing diagnostic accuracy and monitoring patients in real-time. The findings suggest that both telemedicine and AI significantly reduce response times, improve decision-making processes, and increase the accuracy of diagnoses, which ultimately contribute to better patient safety and outcomes. The research also highlights challenges, including infrastructure limitations and the need for specialized training for healthcare professionals. The study’s implications underline the importance of integrating these technologies in critical care units to improve overall healthcare delivery, while addressing barriers to implementation. Future research should focus on overcoming these challenges and exploring long-term outcomes of technology use in critical care environments.
