Abstract

Basic skills that must be possessed by elementary school students are literacy and numeracy skills. Skills and numeracy are important for an individual's capacity to apply thinking. Thinking is the capacity to examine and understand statements, through practice by controlling language and numerical signs experienced in everyday life to show approval orally or in writing, so that skills and numeracy become the main units for dealing with everyday problems and answering the challenges of the 21st century. This test is expected to train the educational and numeracy skills of elementary school students through the application of Game Based Learning. The technique used in this study is PTK or Homeroom Movement Investigation with the Stephen Kemmis and Mc. Taggart test plan model consisting of two stages of preparation. Based on these figures, the results of Game Based Mastering show PTK of 53% and Exploration of Learning Activities of 89%. While the skills show results of 51% and 68%. The completion of this study shows how the implementation of game-based learning can improve the academic and numeracy skills of students at SD Pedurungan Tengah 02.

Abstract

Latar belakang yang mendorong penelitian ini adalah kesulitan siswa kelas IV dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia. Hal ini disebabkan minimnya minat guru untuk mengembangkan diri dan rendahnya pemusatan perhatian siswa ketika proses belajar mengajar. Tujuan yang hendak dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah Untuk mengetahui kesulitan belajar dan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan belajar siswa kelas IV dalam mata pelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SDN 2 Kunden. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif.  Sampel penelitian ini adalah 12 siswa dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, angket dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verivication. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesulitan belajar yang dialami peserta didik cukup tinggi. Kesulitan belajar dapat dilihat dari seorang siswa yang tidak bisa membaca yang seharusnya sudah pandai membaca. Saat orang tuanya lengah atau bekerja mereka memilih untuk bermain. Berdasarkan hasil angket menunjukkan bahwa siswa kesulitan belajar karena guru Bahasa Indonesia tidak menggunakan alat-alat pelajaran (sarana dan prasarana) saat pelajaran berlangsung. Rendahnya pemusatan perhatian siswa dan keterbatasan waktu proses pembelajaran juga menjadi penyebab kesulitan belajar bahasa Indonesia siswa kelas IV SD Negeri Kunden. Peneliti menyarankan agar lebih mengoptimalkan potensi siswa dengan memperbanyak media atau pembelajaran yang melibatkan kegiatan yang menarik. Kata Kunci: Kesulitan Menyimak, Pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia.
