Abstract

This research aims to identify the application of Failure Effect Analysis (FMEA) mode and analyze the integration of Failure Effect Analysis (FMEA) with other methods. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a literature review approach. The research stages begin with collecting articles, reducing articles, displaying articles, discussion, and conclusions. The research data sources are national journal articles in the last 7 years (2018 - 2024). The results showed that Failure Effect Analysis (FMEA) can be applied in various industries, not only limited to one or two industries. Failure Effect Analysis (FMEA) can be integrated with other types of methods that are in accordance with the research objectives. In the application of Failure Effect Analysis (FMEA) combined with other types of methods, there are no definite rules regarding the order in which the methods are used, this can be adjusted to the research objectives that have been formulated.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is an important aspect in the automotive manufacturing industry which has high hazard potential, especially in the welding production field. This research aims to identify potential hazards, conduct risk assessments, and determine control measures using the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control (HIRADC) method at the Welding Department of PT Otomotif ZX. The research method used is descriptive quantitative through direct observation and HIRADC data analysis. The results show that out of a total of 5 main work activities, 24 potential hazards were found with risk classifications as follows: 1 extreme risk, 14 high risks, and 9 medium risks. The potential hazards include risks of cuts, burns, hearing impairment, and muscle injuries due to non-ergonomic work postures. Based on the risk assessment results, control recommendations were developed through the five levels of the hierarchy of controls, namely elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administration, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). The implementation of the HIRADC method has been proven effective in helping companies identify risks and determine appropriate preventive actions to create a safer and more productive work environment.

Abstract

Occupational safety and health (K3) is an important factor in ensuring the physical and mental health of workers and creating a safe work environment. This research discusses the implementation of K3 management to minimize work hazards, especially those caused by developments in industrial technology and the use of hazardous materials such as asbestos. As a destructive material, asbestos can cause serious diseases such as lung and pleural cancer if not managed properly. Referring to the K3 management system policy in the Minister of Manpower Decree No. 05 1996, this research emphasizes the important role of company management in integrating K3 into the operating system. It is hoped that the results of this research can serve as a guide for the business world to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement control measures to create a safe and secure work environment.
