Abstract

As a dominant player in the global Crude Palm Oil (CPO) industry, Indonesia requires strategies to sustain its competitive advantage. This research aims to analyze the strategic factors influencing the competitiveness of Indonesia's CPO in the international market, using the Revealed Comparative Advantage (RCA) method and panel data regression analysis through the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM) approach. The findings indicate that Indonesia's comparative advantage in CPO is significantly influenced by global economic dynamics, importers' policies, increasingly stringent environmental regulations, and intensifying global competition. Additionally, the regression results reveal that economic growth, exchange rates, the population of importing countries, and global CPO prices positively impact the competitiveness of Indonesia's CPO in the international markets. In contrast, inflation in importing countries has a negative effect. Therefore, the government must formulate adaptive policies to address global challenges, capitalize on international opportunities through economic diplomacy, maintain macroeconomic stability, improve CPO production quality, and strengthen competitiveness through technological innovation and supply chain efficiency. These steps are crucial to maintaining Indonesia's dominance in the global CPO industry while promoting sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

The rapid progress of Islamic banking development is evident in the increasing pace of Sharia banking. The financial performance of individual banks serves as a key indicator of Islamic banking growth. Islamic banking exhibits distinctive characteristics and advantages from various perspectives. This research aims to discern variations in the financial performance of two countries, namely Indonesia and the United Kingdom. The study focuses on Islamic banking entities in both countries, with Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Bank Muamalat Indonesia (BMI), Bank Tabungan Pensiunan Nasional Syariah (BTPN), Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB), Bank of London & The Middle East (BLME), and Al Rayan Bank UK (ARB) selected as research samples. The CAMEL method is employed as the performance measurement approach in this study. A quantitative approach is adopted, utilizing descriptive statistical analysis through the SPSS test tool. The findings of the descriptive statistical analysis reveal significant discrepancies in CAR, NPF, NPM, ROA, and FDR ratios among Islamic banks in Indonesia and the United Kingdom. The implications of this research are anticipated to serve as a basis for introspection and foster enhancements in the performance of each Islamic bank.

Abstract

Women play a strategic role in Indonesia’s agricultural sector; however, their contribution to productivity and economic development remains constrained by limited access to land, capital, information, and technology. Advances in digital technology offer significant opportunities to improve production efficiency, expand market access, and strengthen the economic empowerment of women farmers. Nevertheless, empirical and conceptual studies that specifically examine the adoption of digital technology by women farmers in Indonesia are still limited and fragmented. This study aims to comprehensively review the types of digital technologies adopted by women farmers in Indonesia, the factors influencing such adoption, and its impacts on productivity, income, and welfare. The study employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review of 70 reputable scientific articles published between 2011 and 2023, analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the use of mobile phones, digital extension services, e-commerce platforms, and smart agricultural technologies contributes positively to reducing information asymmetry, improving production efficiency, expanding market access, and strengthening the role of women farmers in decision-making. However, the adoption of digital technology remains constrained by low digital literacy, limited infrastructure, restricted access to capital, and gender-based social norms. The implications of this review underscore the importance of gender-responsive digital inclusion policies to promote rural economic growth, food security, and sustainable agricultural development.
