Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the relation between characteristics of the disease and the severity of Covid-19 patients. This study was conducted on patients with confirmed case of covid-19 in Covid-19 Emergency Hospital in Sorong City and Regency who were treated from March 2020-December 2020 on 99 respondents with a cross-sectional study design using secondary data. The most common clinical characteristics among the three symptoms studied were cough (49.5%), shortness of breath (42.4%), and fever (6.1%). Analysis of the relationship with the severity obtained p value =0.242, the relationship between age group with the severity obtained p value <0.001, the relationship between ethnicity and severity (p= 0.054), fever (p=0.193), cough and shortness of breath (p<0, 001). There are statistically significant relation, namely age, cough symptoms and shortness of breath with the severity of Covid-19, and there are no statistically significant relation, namely gender, ethnicity and fever symptoms with the severity of Covid-19.
