Abstract

The history of the development of Tariqah an Naqsyabandiyah began in the 14th century in Türkiye from Shaykh Muhammad bin Muhammad Baha'uddin an Naqshbandi. Tariqah developed rapidly in Maro Sebo Ulu District in 2015-2020, previously centered in Sungai Ruan Ilir Village in 2007/2008. Thariqah Naqsyabandiyah in Maro Sebo Ulu is a pure Islamic teaching that focuses on Sufism preached by Imam Syafi'i (Young Sheikh Muhammad Khairun Nasihin). The beginning of Tariqah Naqsyabandiyah was present in Jambi Province when it was brought by Muhammad 'Ali Idrus (Teacher Bambang). The social role that Tariqah Naqsyabandiyah brings to society contains a lot of goodness, being social, minimizing polytheism and crime in the local environment and others. And da'wah invites people to accept the guidance of Allah SWT. Previously, their work was full of evil and neglect, after being gently taught the ways of Rasulullah SAW, they wanted to repent and take this holy path, namely Tariqah an Naqshbandiyah. The research method used is a qualitative research method. This research method is research that produces descriptive data in the form of words or spoken or written in the form of interviews, scientific works and others. The conclusion is that Tariqah Naqsyabandiyah is an Islamic teaching from Rasulullah SAW and was developed by Muhammad Baha'uddin An Naqsyabandi over time until it reached Jambi by Muhammad Ali Idrus and arrived in Maro Sebo Ulu District brought by the Young Sheikh Muhammad Khairun Nasihin until he succeeded in preaching it despite various obstacles such as opinions and criticism from the public who do not believe in his presence.

Abstract

This article explores the concept of insan kamil (the perfect human) from the perspective of Kautsar Azhari Noer, a prominent contemporary Muslim thinker. Noer integrates the classical Sufi philosophical framework with the challenges of modern human civilization. According to Noer, the perfect human is not only defined by spiritual proximity to God but also by the ability to reflect divine values in intellectual, ethical, and cultural dimensions. Using a qualitative, literature-based approach, this study analyses Noer's interpretations in relation to classical sources such as Ibn ʿArabī and Al-Jīlī. The findings show that Noer offers a philosophical reinterpretation of insan kamil as a response to modern existential and moral crises.

Abstract

Purpose – The study aims to investigate how multicultural education has been implemented in the state Islamic universities in Indonesia and what strategies have been applied by the universities in promoting and imparting multicultural education to students. Two representing universities have been selected: UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta and UIN Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi. Design/methods/approach – This is qualitative study using direct data collection. Data were collected through interview, document analysis, and observation. Data were analyzed through descriptive analysis and critical analysis. Descriptive analysis has provided detailed information about the implementation of multiculturalism. Critical analysis has allowed researchers to examine and criticize various multicultural education tasks on both campuses. Findings – The authors found that in implementing multicultural education, both universities have built an equity pedagogy by bringing multiculturalism into the learning process, have integrated multicultural content into learning, have inculcated multiculturalism insight in the process of constructing knowledge, and have made efforts to reduce prejudice and empower school culture. The strategies adopted to promote and impart multicultural education to students are adapting the curriculum, promoting equality through campus activities, optimizing the strategic role of lecturers in instilling multiculturalism insights directly into students, forming study centers with multiculturalism insight, and maintaining the uniqueness of each university in fighting for equality. Research implications – Since the study covers state Islamic universities in Indonesia, it could contribute to the effort to promote multiculturalism in all the higher education institutions under the Ministry of Religious Affairs. Based on the idea that campus residents are dynamic, critical, creative, multifaceted, and inventive creatures, it is important to create a campus environment that prioritizes an atmosphere of justice, equality, comfort, and security for all campus social entities.
