Abstract

Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) di Desa Karang Gading menjadi jembatan antara dunia akademik dan masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk memberdayakan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) dan meningkatkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Melalui kolaborasi anatara mahasiswa dan masyarakat desa berbagai program pengembangan UMKM berhasil dan meningkatkan pengetahuan manajemen usaha berhasil dilaksanakan. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sinergi antara pendidikan dan masyarakat sangat penting dalam upaya memajukan UMKN dan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat di Desa Karang Gading.

Abstract

This study explores the Qur’anic perspective on orphan care as articulated in Tafsir Al-Misbah by M. Quraish Shihab, and examines how these principles are reflected in the caregiving practices at An-Nur Orphanage, Medan. Employing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through documentation, field observations, and in-depth interviews, and analyzed thematically and comparatively. The findings highlight four key principles emphasized in Tafsir Al-Misbah: compassion, gradual education, moral responsibility, and spiritual protection. These values are evident in An-Nur’s daily routines, educational programs, and the empathetic relationships between caregivers and children. However, the study also identifies obstacles, including limited professional human resources, the lack of tafsir-based training, and the absence of structured psychosocial strategies. This gap suggests a divergence between Qur’anic ideals and current institutional practices in Islamic orphan care. The results underscore the need to integrate Qur’anic values into orphanage policies and caregiver training programs. The novelty of this research lies in connecting thematic Qur’anic interpretation with empirical institutional analysis, offering a holistic and practical Islamic parenting model for orphans in today’s socio-religious context.

Abstract

In modern society, which is increasingly complex and interconnected, social ethics are crucial in forming harmonious relationships between individuals. In the Al-Qur’an, specifically in Surah Al-Hujurat verses 10-13, it presents teachings that urge Muslims to maintain social ethics with wisdom, fairness, and compassion. These verses provide guidance on the importance of mutual respect, peaceful conflict resolution, and refraining from mocking or ridiculing one another. The method used in this research is the method of Quranic exegesis or Historical Exegesis, which examines the historical context of the verses in Surah Al-Hujurat verses 10-13 (Mas'ud Maulana, Hidayatul Fikra, & Chodijah, 2022) to understand the conditions when these verses were revealed. This exegesis shows that these verses reinforce the values of social ethics, such as mutual respect, avoiding negative assumptions, and resolving conflicts with justice and peace. These verses provide concrete guidance for Muslims to interact with each other in their daily lives. In conclusion, Surah Al-Hujurat verse 10 emphasizes the importance of peaceful resolution in conflicts among fellow believers. Then, verse 11 emphasizes the prohibition of belittling others, teaches equality between men and women, and prohibits using derogatory names. Verse 12 also provides an example of safeguarding the honor of fellow Muslims. And in verse 13, it emphasizes awareness of piety as a determining factor of excellence in the sight of Allah.
