Abstract

Currently, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) players are competing to attract consumers to buy their products, one of which is by using attractive packaging. Siomay Gondrong is one of the MSMEs players whose packaging is not attractive, does not have a strong identity, and uses packaging that is less safe in terms of function. Based on these problems, it is necessary to develop the product packaging of Siomay Gondrong. This research aims to determine the concept and design in developing Siomay Gondrong packaging that is in accordance with consumer preferences. Kansei Engineering is used as a method to translate consumers' emotions, feelings, and desires into product design, and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is also used as a supporting method. The total number of samples and kansei words selected as consumer references were 44 samples and 35 kansei words. After filtering with the PCA method, two packaging concept models for siomay gondrong products were identified. The two models were “Not Aesthetic - Aesthetic” and “Not Informative - Innovative”. These two concepts are retained because the values obtained in the Kaiser, Standard Deviation, and Cumulative Proportion methods are more than one (1) and have a proportion of more than 80%. Further research is needed to determine the design elements that match consumer needs using the QTT1 (quantification theory type-1) method.

Abstract

Permasalahan utama dalam evaluasi kemasan Siomay Gondrong adalah memastikan desain kemasan yang efektif untuk menarik konsumen sekaligus menjaga kualitas produk. Faktor-faktor seperti estetika, fungsionalitas, dan daya tarik visual sering kali sulit diukur secara kuantitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan logika fuzzy sebagai alat evaluasi yang mampu menangani ketidakpastian dan subjektivitas dalam penilaian. Metode yang digunakan melibatkan pengumpulan data melalui kuesioner dari konsumen dan ahli desain, yang kemudian diolah menggunakan sistem logika fuzzy berbasis aturan. Sistem ini mengintegrasikan variabel seperti estetika, daya tahan, dan keberlanjutan dalam menghasilkan skor evaluasi akhir. Hasil riset penelitian menunjukkan sistem fuzzy logic memberikan hasil jawaban netral. Kesimpulannya, sistem logika fuzzy belum sepenuhnya memberikan hasil yang efektif dan fleksibel untuk mengevaluasi desain kemasan.

Abstract

This study examines machine performance inefficiencies in a digital printing production system by applying the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method to the Versant 3100i digital printing machine at CV XYZ. The objective of this research is to evaluate machine effectiveness, identify dominant sources of production losses, and analyze their root causes to support operational performance improvement. An integrated analytical approach is employed by combining OEE measurement, Six Big Losses analysis, and Fishbone Diagram techniques to systematically diagnose machine performance issues. The results show that the average OEE value of the Versant 3100i machine is 82.92%, which remains below the international benchmark of 85%, indicating that machine performance has not yet reached an optimal level. Analysis of the Six Big Losses reveals that Reduced Speed is the most significant contributor to performance loss, accounting for 36.24% of total losses. Further analysis using a Fishbone Diagram indicates that Reduced Speed is mainly caused by human-related factors and the absence of standardized Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Based on these findings, targeted improvement strategies are proposed, including structured operator training, the implementation of standardized operating procedures, and the strengthening of quality control mechanisms. This study demonstrates that the integrated use of OEE, Six Big Losses, and Fishbone Diagram analysis is effective in identifying priority improvement areas and formulating practical improvement strategies. The proposed approach can be applied by manufacturing companies to enhance machine effectiveness and operational efficiency, particularly in digital printing production environments.
