Students need to be trained in high-level thinking skills in order to be able to build an understanding of mathematics and be able to solve it. Based on the results of observations, there are still many students who are not active in the learning process, for example they do not ask teachers about the material being taught. The purpose of the study is to determine the critical thinking ability of students in solving problems in fractions. The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Observation, tests and interviews are the methods used to collect data. The research data was analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the study showed that the critical thinking ability of grade V students of SDN 1 Peukan Bada in solving fractional problems was divided into three categories, namely high, medium and low. Students think highly with a figure of 16%. Students have medium thinking skills of 8% and low 76%.

In the Qur'an, verses are also found that show the importance of facilities and infrastructure or tools in education. In the context of Islamic education, educational tools must contain operational values that are able to deliver to the goals of Islamic education that are full of indigo values. These values are of course based on the existence of the basis or characteristics of Islamic education itself. The approach of this research is qualitative. The type of research used is a literature study. The data collection technique in this study is by documentation. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The context of the management of facilities and infrastructure from an Islamic perspective is found in the interpretation of the Qur'an Surah An-Nahl (16) verses 68-69 which maps the concept of building the division of labor in arranging infrastructure facilities so that they are effective and on target so that in their implementation they are in accordance with their use value and then strengthened by the hadith of the Prophet PBUH. The inventory of facilities and infrastructure is contained in the interpretation of Surah Al-Baqarah (2) verse 282. Supervision of facilities and infrastructure is contained in the interpretation of surah Al-Mujaadillah (58) verse 7.

The development of social problems in society and the world of education is increasingly complex. One way to unravel the existing problems is to use research. One of the studies that can be used is mixed research (Combination). In a research, a combination of theory and research methodology is needed so that research objectives are created, namely positive contribution, namely solving problems faced by the research object. The type of research used is a literature study. The data collection technique in this study is by documentation. Data collection techniques are carried out in several stages, namely: 1) Identification of data sources, 2) Literature collection, 3) Literature review and synthesis. The data analysis technique used is content analysis. The results of the study explain that combination research is a research that combines and correlates qualitative and quantitative forms. The combination method consists of sequential, concurrent and transformative mixed methods. The concurrent transformative method in the design of the mixed research method is one part of the mixed research method.

Social Studies (IPS) learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and concern for the social and natural environment. This study aims to examine various literature on the use of natural media in social studies learning to foster students' social and ecological awareness. Natural media, such as soil, water, plants, rocks, and the environmental conditions around the school, serve not only as learning aids but also as a means to instill the values of social empathy, responsibility, and environmental preservation. This literature review was conducted by reviewing 25 relevant scientific articles, reference books, and research reports published between 2018 and 2024. The results of the study indicate that the use of natural media in social studies learning contextually and thematically can improve students' understanding of the relationship between humans and their environment, strengthen students' emotional involvement in social and ecological issues, and encourage students to actively participate in concrete actions to protect the environment. In addition, natural media strengthens experiential learning, which supports the achievement of the Independent Curriculum competencies. This study recommends that teachers design integrative and reflective learning strategies based on natural media to create a generation with social and ecological awareness.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap materi perkalian desimal. Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya hasil belajar siswa kelas V SDN 58 Banda Aceh, khususnya dalam memahami konsep perkalian desimal yang selama ini diajarkan secara konvensional dan kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain one-shot case study, di mana siswa diberikan perlakuan melalui pembelajaran berbasis PBL dan kemudian diuji menggunakan post-test. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa data post-test tidak berdistribusi normal, sehingga dilakukan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank. Nilai signifikansi p = 0.001 < 0.05 menunjukkan bahwa model PBL efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman perkalian desimal siswa. Pembelajaran melalui PBL mampu menciptakan proses belajar yang lebih kontekstual, aktif, dan bermakna sehingga siswa tidak hanya menghafal, tetapi juga memahami konsep secara mendalam. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan PBL dalam pembelajaran matematika untuk mendorong keterlibatan siswa dan meningkatkan hasil belajar secara signifikan.AbstractThis study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in improving students’ understanding of decimal multiplication. The background of the research stems from the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at SDN 58 Banda Aceh, particularly in mastering decimal multiplication, which has been traditionally taught using conventional methods that lack student engagement. This study employed a pre-experimental method with a one-shot case study design, in which students received instruction through PBL and were then assessed using a post-test. The analysis showed that the post-test data were not normally distributed; therefore, the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test was used. The test result yielded a significance value of p = 0.001 < 0.05, indicating that the PBL model was effective in enhancing students' understanding of decimal multiplication. PBL fostered a contextual, active, and meaningful learning process, enabling students not only to memorize procedures but also to deeply comprehend mathematical concepts. The study recommends the implementation of PBL in mathematics instruction to promote student engagement and significantly improve learning outcomes.

The mathematical ability of elementary school students in Indonesia remains low, with Indonesia ranking 70th out of 81 countries in PISA 2022. One of the problems faced is that fifth grade students experience difficulties in understanding fraction material, which is caused by the limited use of technology-based interactive learning media. This research aims to determine the development process and effectiveness of digital-based flashcard learning media in improving the mathematical concept understanding of fifth grade students at SDN 2 Lamcot on fraction material. This research uses the Research and Development method with the ADDIE model consisting of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research subjects were 23 fifth grade students at SDN 2 Lamcot. Data collection techniques used interviews, expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and tests. The research results show that the media development process was carried out systematically through the five ADDIE stages and produced a highly feasible product based on a combined validation of 96.43%. Digital-based flashcard media proved to be highly effective in improving students' mathematical concept understanding, evidenced by a practicality test of 88.04% (very practical) and a significant improvement in learning outcomes from a pretest average of 46.09 to a posttest of 86,95, with the completion percentage increasing from 8.7% to 100%. This media is able to create engaging, interactive, and meaningful learning for students.

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in developing critical thinking skills and student learning awareness. However, learning still tends to be teacher-centered and does not fully train students to be aware of their own thinking processes. One effort that can be made to address this problem is the implementation of metacognitive strategies combined with the use of video learning media. This study aims to describe the application of metacognitive strategies in Indonesian language learning using video media and its impact on the critical thinking skills of fourth grade students at SD Negeri 70 Banda Aceh. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of one teacher and several fourth grade students. The results of the study indicate that the application of metacognitive strategies, including planning, monitoring, and evaluation, can improve students' engagement, understanding, and awareness of their learning process. The use of instructional video media can capture students' attention, increase their motivation to learn, and help them understand the material on differentiating facts from opinions more concretely. Students demonstrated positive responses, expressed their opinions more confidently, and gained greater confidence in participating in the learning process. Therefore, the application of metacognitive strategies supported by instructional video media is considered effective in improving the quality of Indonesian language learning and critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 70 Banda Aceh

Education is a continuous process aimed at shaping the quality of human beings who continue to develop as preparation for the future. Basic education plays an important role as an initial foundation in building students’ academic abilities, especially early reading skills in lower-grade elementary school students. Early reading is a fundamental skill that must be mastered by first-grade students as a basis for subsequent learning. This study aims to determine the effect of using alphabet animated video learning media on improving early reading skills of first-grade elementary school students. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method using a One Group Pre-test Post-test design. The research subjects consisted of one group of students who were given a pre-test before the treatment and a post-test after the implementation of the alphabet animated video media. The data were analyzed using the Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed that the average pre-test score of students was 77.17, which increased to 90.86 in the post-test, with an increase of 13.69 points. The statistical test results showed a t-value of –4.473 with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating that H₀ was rejected and H₁ was accepted. The conclusion of this study indicates that the use of alphabet animated video media has a significant effect on improving early reading skills of first-grade elementary school students and is also able to increase students’ motivation and activeness in the learning process. The suggestions are directed to teachers to utilize alphabet animated video media as an alternative learning medium for early reading instruction, schools are expected to support the provision of technology-based facilities, and future researchers are encouraged to develop similar studies with more varied subjects and learning media

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS subject for fifth-grade students at SDN 19 Banda Aceh. The background of this study is based on the low learning outcomes of students caused by teacher-centered learning methods, resulting in low student participation and engagement in the learning process. This research employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental design using the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population as well as the sample consisted of all 30 fifth-grade students of SDN 19 Banda Aceh. Data were collected through tests, namely pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed using normality test, N-Gain test, and hypothesis testing (paired sample t-test). The results showed that the data were normally distributed based on the Shapiro-Wilk test, with a significance value of 0.075 for the pretest and 0.082 for the posttest (>0.05). The N-Gain test result indicated an average score of 0.5474, which falls into the medium category, showing an improvement in students’ learning outcomes. Furthermore, the hypothesis test showed a significance value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant difference between pretest and posttest results. Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model has a significant effect on improving students’ learning outcomes in the IPAS subject for fifth-grade students at SDN 19 Banda Aceh

The low learning outcomes of students in citizenship education subjects in class VI of SD Negeri 24 Banda Aceh are influenced by less varied learning and the use of interesting learning media. Therefore, implementing a word wall-based problem based learning (PBL) model is an alternative for improving student learning outcomes. This research aims to determine the influence of the word wall-based problem based learning (PBL) model on student learning outcomes in class VI citizenship education subjects. This research uses a quantitative approach with a one group pretest-posttest experimental method without a control group. This research was carried out in November with a research sample of 25 people taken using total sampling techniques. The intervention took the form of implementing a word wall-based problem based learning (PBL) model which was carried out during one meeting for 70 minutes. Data was collected by pretest and posttest which was analyzed using the paired sample t-test. The research results showed that the average pretest score of students was lower than the average posttest score with a value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This shows that there is a significant influence of implementing the word wall-based problem based learning (PBL) model on improving student learning outcomes. The conclusion from the results of this research shows that the application of the word wall-based problem based learning (PBL) model is a simple but effective learning approach in increasing student involvement and has a positive impact on learning outcomes in citizenship education subjects. in class VI of SD Negeri 24 Banda Aceh
