Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of e-module-based learning in the Foundation Engineering I course. The research method employed is an experimental approach with two groups. The learning material consists of four learning activities (KB1, KB2, KB3, and KB4). The research instrument includes learning outcome tests conducted before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the learning process. The findings show that the experimental group experienced learning outcome improvements of 29.40% (KB1), 33.94% (KB2), 58.41% (KB3), and 24.51% (KB4). Meanwhile, the control group achieved increases of 25.74% (KB1), 31.67% (KB2), 51.80% (KB3), and 22.44% (KB4). The average learning outcome improvement in the experimental group was 36.49%, slightly higher than the control group at 32.93%, with a difference of 3.56%. However, statistical analysis revealed no significant difference between the two groups. This study indicates that e-modules are not yet fully effective in enhancing learning outcomes in the Foundation Engineering I course. The effectiveness of e-module-based learning is influenced by various factors, such as the e-module design, interactivity, and students’ readiness to utilize technology. Additionally, the complexity of Foundation Engineering I material necessitates intensive guidance from lecturers to support mathematical and conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul Perancangan Interior Rumah Tinggal berbasis software. Pada mata kuliah Desain Interior di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, mahasiswa mengalami kendala dalam menyelesaikan tugas perancangan interior rumah tinggal menggunakan software. Hal ini disebabkan oleh e-modul yang ada belum mencakup panduan dalam perancangan interior rumah tinggal berbasis software. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (R&D) berdasarkan model 4D, yang mencakup empat tahap: define (tahap pendefinisian), design (tahap perancangan), develop (tahap pengembangan), dan dissemination (tahap penyebaran). E-modul terdiri dari enam materi belajar, yakni Perancangan Interior : (1) ruang tamu, (2) ruang keluarga, (3) kamar tidur, (4) kamar mandi, (5) dapur dan (6) rendering gambar. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa E-modul sangat layak digunakan, dengan persentase dari ahli materi sebesar 92,67%, ahli media 95,81%, dan penilaian pengguna 94,00%. Uji coba terbatas pada 15 mahasiswa menunjukkan peningkatan hasil belajar, di mana n-gain pada materi belajar E-modul kedua, ketiga, keempat, kelima, dan keenam mencapai lebih dari sama dengan 0,70, yang mengindikasikan efektivitas yang tinggi. Untuk materi belajar pertama, n-gain mencapai 0,67, termasuk dalam kategori efektivitas sedang. Dengan demikian, E-modul Perancangan Interior Rumah Tinggal berbasis Software dinyatakan layak digunakan pada mata kuliah Desain Interior di Program Studi Pendidikan Teknik Bangunan, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Jakarta.

Abstract

In the period of the fourth industrial revolution, technology plays an essential role in learning. Educators are working to improve the quality of learning by producing creative and exciting technology-based teaching materials that raise students' interest and ease of learning. One instance of technology being utilized in education is e-modules. The aim of this research is to develop e-module teaching materials for foundation engineering courses. Research and development model from Thiagarajan or 4D is used in this research. The four stages that were employed in this research are define, design, develop, and disseminate. This research sample consists of media expert validators, material expert validators and user evaluations. Validation findings from material specialists received an average evaluation percentage of 86%, while validation results from media experts obtained an average assessment percentage of 81%. This demonstrates that the development of e-module-based teaching materials for foundation engineering very suitable for use. Meanwhile, user evaluations on the creating of e-module-based foundation engineering teaching materials were deemed extremely acceptable for usage (average 89.3%). Based on the results of limited trials conducted on Building Engineering Education Students, it shows that the learning results of students have increased by 16.6% through a mean score of 70 on the pretest and 82 on the posttest.
