Adherence to antiretroviral (ARV) medication is a crucial factor in the success of HIV/AIDS patient therapy. Adherence levels are often low due to a lack of knowledge, motivation, and support. Audiovisual and tutorial-based education is considered capable of improving patient understanding, thereby encouraging medication adherence. This community service activity aims to provide education to HIV/AIDS patients through audiovisual and tutorial media, and to assess its effectiveness on medication adherence. This community service is an implementation using the quasi-experimental method with 36 participants from a total population of 40 people. Data were processed statistically with SPSS and using the Wilcoxon test. Evaluation was carried out through pre-tests and post-tests and was participatory during the activity. The results of the activity showed an increase in patient understanding of ARVs, as well as increased medication adherence after being given educational interventions at the Bandarharjo Community Health Center. The results of the activity carried out with audiovisual and tutorial-based educational media showed an increase in knowledge of 92% of 36 patients after being given audiovisual and tutorial education, Medication Adherence; Before the intervention, almost 100% of patients were non-compliant with ARV medication. After the educational intervention, this increased to 92%. Patients reported feeling more motivated and understanding the material more easily through audiovisuals compared to traditional lectures. Tutorials helped them gain confidence in managing their medication schedules. Based on the analysis using the Wilcoxon test, a p-value of 0.000 indicates that the treatment or intervention significantly improved patient adherence to ARV treatment. Audiovisual and tutorial-based education has been proven effective in improving medication adherence in HIV/AIDS patients. This method can be used as an educational intervention strategy in community health centers and hospitals to improve the quality of care for HIV/AIDS patients.

Background: Stroke is a medical condition characterized by a disruption in blood flow to the brain, most commonly resulting in ischemic stroke, which accounts for 70%–85% of all stroke cases. Prolonged immobility in stroke patients increases the risk of pressure ulcers. Effective prevention strategies Include regular repositioning and meticulous skin care. Effleurage massage, when combined with Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), enhances blood circulation and skin hydration, thereby potentially reducing the risk of impaired skin integrity. Objective: To analyze the management of a non-hemorrhagic stroke patient Through the application of Effleurage Massage therapy using Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) to reduce the risk of skin integrity impairment. Methods: This case study involved a non-hemorrhagic stroke patient who was observed during hospital visits over a three-day period. Effleurage massage using VCO was applied twice daily—once in the morning and once at night. Skin integrity was assessed before and after the intervention using the Braden Scale Results: A decrease in the risk of skin integrity impairment was observed following the intervention, as evidenced by improved Braden Scale scores. Conclusion: Effleurage Massage using Virgin Coconut Oil may serve as an effective complementary therapy to reduce the risk of skin integrity Impairment in non-hemorrhagic stroke patients.

Low birth weight (LBW) infants are at risk of physiological disorders such as hypothermia, unstable oxygen saturation, and hemodynamic disorders due to limited adaptation to the environment outside the womb. This study aims to determine the effect of positioning and nesting on changes in body temperature, oxygen saturation, and heart rate in LBW infants. The method used was a descriptive case study with a one-group pretest–posttest approach on five LBW infants treated in the Perinatology Unit of Batang Regional General Hospital. The nesting and positioning interventions were administered for three consecutive days, with each session lasting 30 minutes. Physiological parameters were measured before and after the intervention using a digital thermometer, neonatal pulse oximeter, and stethoscope. The results showed an increase in average body temperature from 35.8°C to 36.6°C, oxygen saturation from 94.8% to 98.2%, and heart rate from 130.8 to 136.8 beats per minute within normal limits. It was concluded that positioning and nesting are effective as non-pharmacological therapies to support the physiological stability of LBW infants.

Here is the high-quality academic English version: Tuberculosis (TB) is a communicable disease that affects not only patients’ physical health but also their psychological well-being. Non-adherence to treatment, inadequate nutritional intake, and insufficient transmission-prevention behaviors remain significant challenges in TB control efforts. Education grounded in the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) is considered capable of influencing attitudes, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control, thereby promoting more optimal health behavior changes. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of TPB-based education in improving treatment adherence, nutritional fulfillment, and transmission-prevention practices among TB patients at Batang 2 Primary Health Center. A case study design was employed involving five TB patients undergoing the intensive phase of treatment. The intervention consisted of four face-to-face educational sessions over a two-week period, supplemented by twice-daily SMS/WhatsApp reminders. Data were collected using adherence observation sheets, nutritional questionnaires, and TPB observation forms, and were analyzed by comparing pre- and post-intervention scores. The results demonstrated an increase in adherence scores from 5–6 to 7–9 across all respondents. TPB-based education proved effective and is recommended as a nursing strategy to support TB control in primary healthcare settings.

Preoperative anxiety is a common psychological response among patients undergoing laparotomy and may negatively affect physiological stability and surgical outcomes. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of olive oil hand massage in reducing anxiety levels among preoperative laparotomy patients at RS Telogorejo Semarang. A pre-experimental one-group pretest–posttest case study design was applied to four participants who met inclusion criteria. The intervention consisted of hand massage using olive oil administered once daily for 10 minutes over three consecutive days. Anxiety levels were measured using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) before and after each intervention session. The findings demonstrated a consistent decrease in HARS scores across all participants, with anxiety levels declining from moderate to mild and, in one case, to no anxiety. Improvements in physiological parameters, including blood pressure and pulse rate, were also observed. These results indicate that olive oil hand massage may serve as a simple, safe, and effective nursing intervention to alleviate preoperative anxiety. Further research with larger samples and controlled designs is recommended to strengthen the evidence base.

Acute pain is a common clinical problem experienced by patients after undergoing breast surgery such as Mastectomy, which may affect comfort, mobility, and recovery during the postoperative period. Effective pain management is essential in nursing care, and non-pharmacological approaches are increasingly utilized to complement pharmacological therapy. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of the Benson relaxation technique in reducing acute pain among post-mastectomy patients treated at Bougenville 1 Ward of SMC Telogorejo Hospital Semarang. The research employed an empirical clinical case study design involving four patients selected through purposive sampling based on predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The intervention consisted of the Benson relaxation technique performed for 10–15 minutes daily for three consecutive days. Pain intensity was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale before and after each intervention session. The findings demonstrated a gradual decrease in pain intensity among all participants, shifting from moderate–severe pain before intervention to mild pain by the third day. These results suggest that Benson relaxation can serve as an effective complementary nursing intervention for postoperative pain management.

This study examines the relationship between nurses’ knowledge of patient safety and their compliance with the seven rights principle of medication administration in an inpatient setting at a specialized surgical hospital in Semarang. A quantitative empirical approach with a cross-sectional correlational design was employed, involving 54 nurses selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and observational checklists, and analyzed using Spearman rank correlation. The findings indicate a statistically significant positive correlation with moderate strength, suggesting that higher levels of knowledge are associated with better compliance in medication practices. The results highlight that knowledge functions as a critical cognitive foundation influencing clinical behavior and adherence to safety protocols. However, variations in compliance suggest the involvement of additional factors such as workload, organizational support, and patient safety culture. These findings emphasize the need for integrated strategies combining continuous education, clinical supervision, and system-level interventions to enhance patient safety outcomes. Strengthening institutional policies and fostering a safety-oriented environment are essential to reduce medication errors and improve healthcare quality.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder with a steadily increasing prevalence at both global and national levels. This condition poses a high risk of severe complications, including cardiovascular disease, renal failure, and neuropathy. Effective management of DM requires active patient participation through Diabetes Self-Management (DSM), which is strongly influenced by self-efficacy. However, many patients still exhibit low self-efficacy, highlighting the need for educational interventions such as Diabetes Self-Management Education (DSME), including those delivered through digital media like e-booklets. This study aims to examine the effect of DSME delivered via e-booklets on the self-efficacy of DM patients at RSUD Kajen Pekalongan. The study employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design without a control group. The population consisted of hospitalized DM patients, with an average of 92 patients per month, and a sample of 92 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale questionnaire and analyzed through frequency distribution and the Wilcoxon test. The results indicate that 90% of respondents had low self-efficacy prior to the intervention, which increased to 66.9% in the moderate category following the intervention. Statistical analysis revealed a significant effect (p = 0.000), confirming that e-booklet-based DSME effectively enhances self-efficacy among patients with DM.
