Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of multimedia and interactive-based mathematics learning at SMKS Pancasila Tambolaka, specifically for students in the Tourism Service Management program in Sumba Barat Daya. By combining quantitative and qualitative approaches (mixed methods), this research measures the improvement in students' understanding of mathematical concepts as well as their perceptions of this teaching method. Quantitative data was collected through pre-tests and post-tests to compare students' understanding before and after the multimedia-based learning, while a Likert scale questionnaire was used to assess students' motivation and satisfaction. Qualitative data was gathered through in-depth interviews with teachers and focus group discussions with students to capture their experiences. The results indicate that multimedia and interactive learning methods significantly enhance students' understanding of mathematical concepts, as well as strengthen their motivation and participation in class. Teachers also reported benefits from using this technology, which helps to simplify abstract concepts. Recommendations from this study include improving technology infrastructure and providing ongoing teacher training to ensure optimal implementation. These findings support previous research, which suggests that multimedia is effective in enhancing the quality of learning and increasing student engagement.

Abstract

This study addresses the limited comprehensive understanding of emotional intelligence (EI) in educational settings. It aims to systematically review literature on the relationship between EI, academic achievement, and student well-being. A systematic literature review was conducted using predefined criteria, incorporating 2020–2025 studies indexed in Google Scholar and analyzed using Harzing's Publish or Perish and VOSviewer. Meta-analysis results reveal a significant positive correlation between EI and both academic performance and psychological well-being. Students with high EI demonstrate greater emotional regulation, self-esteem, and resilience. Moreover, positive teacher-student relationships and supportive learning environments amplify these effects. Despite the findings, limitations such as reliance on self-report data and underexplored cultural factors persist. Future research should implement longitudinal and diverse methodological approaches to deepen the understanding of EI's impact on holistic student development.

Abstract

Student brawls reflect the complex social dynamics of adolescence and pose a critical challenge within the educational environment. This study employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) to investigate the root causes, consequences, and intervention strategies related to student brawls. A thorough search of Scopus and Dimensions databases was conducted, focusing on publications from 2015 to 2025. Inclusion criteria required that studies be published in educational journals, explicitly address student brawls, and be available in full-text form in English. Data were extracted using a standardized form and analysed thematically, drawing on social control theory and social learning theory. The findings reveal that internal factors—such as identity crises and emotional instability—and external factors—like peer pressure, lack of family support, repressive school policies, and negative influences from social media—are primary contributors to student brawls. These acts result not only in physical harm but also in psychosocial trauma and disruption of the educational environment. Effective interventions require a holistic and preventive approach, including character education, family counselling, and the development of a supportive school climate. This study highlights the urgent need for integrated, humanistic strategies to cultivate a culture of peace in schools and address the structural roots of youth brawls.
