Abstract

Abstrak. Tingginya angka perkawinan anak di Kelurahan Romanglompoa, Gowa, Sulawesi Selatan, telah menjadi masalah serius yang berdampak pada masa depan remaja perempuan di daerah tersebut. Program Pendidikan Kecakapan Hidup (Life Skill Education) ini bertujuan untuk mencegah perkawinan anak dengan meningkatkan pemahaman remaja perempuan mengenai dampak negatif perkawinan anak dan kebijakan pencegahannya, serta mengembangkan keterampilan hidup seperti komunikasi asertif, perencanaan karir, dan kesehatan reproduksi. Hasil pelaksanaan program menunjukkan bahwa Program Pendidikan Kecakapan Hidup memiliki dampak yang signifikan dalam memberdayakan remaja perempuan di berbagai aspek penting dalam kehidupan mereka. Program ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman tentang kesehatan reproduksi, yang membantu remaja perempuan lebih sadar dan bijak dalam menjaga kesehatan tubuh mereka. Selain itu, program ini juga meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi asertif dan perencanaan karir, yang memungkinkan mereka untuk lebih percaya diri dalam menyuarakan pendapat, mempertahankan hak-hak mereka, dan merencanakan masa depan mereka dengan lebih baik. Peningkatan pemahaman tentang dampak negatif perkawinan anak dan kebijakan-kebijakan pencegahannya menunjukkan bahwa remaja perempuan yang mengikuti program ini menjadi lebih sadar akan risiko yang dapat mempengaruhi masa depan mereka dan lebih siap untuk mengambil tindakan pencegahan. Keseluruhan hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa pendidikan kecakapan hidup tidak hanya meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan remaja perempuan tetapi juga memberdayakan mereka untuk membuat keputusan yang lebih baik dan mengambil kendali atas kehidupan mereka.

Abstract

Trans Mamminasata BRT service delivery in the city of Makassar is still not able to provide a good service for people with disabilities. This can be seen in the existing condition of the existing BRT shelter. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the accessibility available on Trans Mamminasata BRT services to persons with disabilities. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method that aims to avoid the important details that are neglected due to quantitative methods are often the details are generalized into numbers and causing the existing information becomes neglected. Based on observations that have been made, found many irregularities in Mamminasata Trans Cosmos BRT service standards established in Indonesia. Some of the most common problems are the discrepancy of the size of the stop device against the prevailing standards, the unavailability of the special room for wheelchair users, the poor pedestrian conditions around the BRT shelter, the lack of available service information, and the presence of the eliminated bus facility. Based on this, it can be concluded that the condition of BRT stop Trans Mamminasata still not friendly to persons with disabilities in the city of Makassar.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the limited in-depth research on the symbolic meanings embedded in the architecture of the Towani Tolotang traditional house. Therefore, this research aims to reveal the meanings contained in the architectural elements and ornaments of the traditional house. The study employs Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic theory as the analytical framework, using a qualitative research method with an ethnographic approach. Informants were selected through purposive sampling and consisted of three individuals knowledgeable about Towani Tolotang traditions. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings show that the Towani Tolotang traditional house, particularly the homes of traditional leaders (Uwa’), contains strong symbolic meanings in each of its architectural features. The three-tiered stilt-house structure represents Bugis mythological concepts; the round or twelve-sided pillars symbolize the steadfastness of Tolotang ideology; the bamboo flooring ensures smooth air circulation; the odd number of steps is believed to bring good fortune to the homeowner; the tamping reflects respect toward the Uwa’ as traditional leaders; the white color signifies purity; the use of wood for doors and windows embodies respect for nature; and the carvings symbolize hopes for a prosperous life. These findings imply that the Towani Tolotang traditional house functions not only as a physical dwelling but also as a medium for preserving the spiritual, cultural, and philosophical values of the Tolotang community, highlighting the importance of safeguarding and introducing it as part of local cultural heritage preservation efforts.
