Abstract

Sustained-release tablets are pharmaceutical preparations designed to gradually release the active substance over a specific period, thereby maintaining a constant concentration of the drug in the circulatory system and enhancing therapeutic effectiveness. The development of sustained-release tablets aims to extend the duration of drug action, reduce the frequency of dose administration, and minimize fluctuations in drug levels in the plasma, which ultimately enhances patient compliance and treatment effectiveness, especially in chronic diseases. The purpose of this review is to identify various formulation methods and innovations in the production of sustained-release tablets, as well as to examine the factors that influence the success of these formulations. The method used in this study is a literature review that collects data from various scientific publications over the past five years through online platforms such as Google Scholar, using keywords related to matrix sustained-release tablets and pharmaceutical formulations. The results of the review indicate that various techniques, such as formulating polymer matrices, coating, and encapsulation, have been applied with varying degrees of success depending on the type of active ingredients and excipients used. Some formulation innovations, such as the use of natural polymer matrices and matrix modifications, have proven effective in achieving controlled, stable, and quality-standard-compliant drug release.

Abstract

Supplement is a product that contains additional nutrients to complement food, generally containing one or more nutrients, like vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fiber, and fatty acids, are usually prepared in the form of tablets, capsules, or liquids like syrup. Supplements can help improve nutrition, The purpose of this review is to analyze the effectiveness and safety of using health supplements in preventing and overcoming nutritional deficiencies and improving the quality of life of individuals in this analysis is based on a literature review from the online platform used, namely google scholar and semantic. The results of the journal review in this article show that supplements, such as mangosteen effervescent tablets, vitamin C, and stevia, have significant benefits for health, including improving immunity, managing diabetes, and supporting disease recovery. Education and socialization succeeded in improving people's understanding of the wise use of supplements, with age, knowledge, and socioeconomic conditions influencing consumption behavior.

Abstract

Complete basic immunization (IDL) is a crucial preventive effort to increase children's immunity to various infectious diseases that can be prevented through immunization. In this research review, the literature analysis method was used to select ten journals that had titles and focus of discussion related to the overview of IDL coverage. These journals were identified in the 2015–2025 period through the Google Scholar, Crossref, and Garuda search engines with certain inclusion criteria. The results of the analysis showed that the coverage of IDL in several health facilities in Indonesia was quite high in the initial dose, especially in infants less than one year old. However, the achievement of the follow-up dose is still relatively lower than the first dose. Parents' ignorance about the benefits of immunization, concerns about vaccine side effects, limited access to health services, and delays in visit schedules are the main factors for incomplete immunization. In addition, socioeconomic factors and family support also affect immunization compliance. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the role of health workers through continuous education, community-based socialization, and improvement of the immunization recording and monitoring system to ensure the fulfillment of IDL evenly and sustainably.

Abstract

Advances in technology and research in the field of pharmacy have driven innovation in drug formulation and administration methods to improve the effectiveness and safety of therapy. One of the most widely developed dosage forms is suspension injections, which are sterile preparations containing particles of active ingredients that are insoluble in the carrier fluid. This study aims to review the effects of various administration routes, such as intra-articular, intramuscular, and subcutaneous, on the efficacy and safety of suspension injections. The method used is a literature study analyzing various scientific journals from databases published in the last ten years. The results of the review show that the route of administration has a significant effect on the therapeutic effect, where the intra-articular route provides a strong local effect with low systemic risk, the intramuscular route produces long-term effects and is relatively easy to perform, while the subcutaneous route provides stable drug release over a long period of time. Overall, the choice of injection route for suspension injections should be tailored to the characteristics of the drug, the patient's condition, and the therapeutic goals to achieve optimal, safe, and comfortable treatment outcomes for the patient.
